Wonderful magnifying glass. Fits my hands just right and I can read the smallest print on food packaged items, bottles, cartons, etc. You have 3 light settings. It is bettery operated, which I prefer because I can tell when it is getting low. I do not have any luck with the. rechargeable ones, although I do have one. Most do not hold their charge - not all. But, I do like this one in every way - perfect size; handle not too long, not too short and the glass is not too small, not too large. If I had anything other than positive, I would suggest that it would be nice to have a little pouch or cover to put the magnifying glass in so it does NOT SCRATCH; THEN I WOULD HAVE ONE IN EVERY DRAWER IN EVERY ROOM LOL

If you do jigsaw puzzles this will be a must for those tiny pieces. The lighted feature is great for seeing those small things like splinters too. Good buy.

I ordered this for my sister, 83 years young. Upon receiving the magnifying glass, I was surprised at the weight, it was a bit heavy, but my sis could handle it. The quality is out of this world, the price is great. It has three different settings for illumination, which my sister liked.

Thirty. Freaking. X. That’s not a magnifier, that’s a full-on electron microscope for the fabulous and over-40 crowd. I held it over my jewelry and suddenly my “vintage” rings looked like they belonged in the Crown Jewels – every scratch, every sparkle, every questionable life choice that led to that cubic zirconia screaming in 4K. But wait, the DRAMA doesn’t stop there. Eighteen – count ’em – EIGHTEEN LEDs with three modes: cold light (for when you’re feeling clinical and want to judge your pores), warm light (for cozy late-night reading that makes you feel like a sexy librarian), and mixed (because why choose when you can have it all?). It’s brighter than my future and twice as illuminating. The lens is legitimately HUGE – no more doing the awkward magnifying-glass-hover-dance trying to catch two sentences at once. I can finally read ingredient labels without pressing my face into the jar like a desperate raccoon. Seniors? Coin collectors? Jewelry hoarders? Macular degeneration warriors? This is your new ride-or-die. Lightweight, sturdy, doesn’t make my wrist cry after five minutes, and the lights are so extra I half expect it to start beat-dropping. For the price? Honey, I’d pay double just to watch it outshine every other sad, dim, 5X drugstore tragedy I’ve ever owned.

Pay attention to the written reviews here that talk about this magnifying glass being too heavy for people to use for any length of time, especially elderly people. This thing weighs 9 ounces without batteries! And the weight isn't balanced: the glass end is much heavier than the handle. I really can't understand some of the video reviews that go out of their way to say it's not heavy. I can almost guarantee you the first thought you will have when you pick it up (well, maybe not now, if you've read this review) is: "Man, this thing is heavy!" I have a couple of other quality magnifying glass with a diameter about the same, and they are very much lighter (although they're not lighted). Your second reaction likely will be: "Man, this thing is big!" It is 8 inches long and four inches wide. Think about it: This magnifying glass is about as big as a standard sheet of paper is wide. If you're buying this so your 80-year-old grandmother can read the newspaper, you should think twice. Also, what's with all the reviews saying they like the 30x magnification? That's saying that things viewed through the magnifying glass look 30 times bigger. Really? That silver dollar in the video really looks like it's 25 inches in diameter? The maximum magnification is about 3x. That's a big help in doing things like reading prescriptions on pill bottles or mint marks on collectible coins. But it's far from 30x, which is microscope-level magnification. That said, this is a big piece of glass with relatively good optical quality, and it definitely makes it easier to see small things when they are well-lighted. And this device is really bright, like don't make a mistake and turn it on while it's pointed towards you bright! (Your eye has better resolution and depth of field when the iris is constricted-down, just like a camera takes sharper pictures at f22 than at f2.8.) But both of those things can be achieved in a smaller, lighter package. I also agree with commenters who say the battery cover seems unnecessarily flimsy, although mine hasn't come open on its own yet. (By the way, I bought three of these, and none had batteries included, unlike some of the reviews here. But I didn't see anything in the product description itself that made me think I was going to get the required three AAA batteries with my purchase.) I would have given this two or two and a half stars (if the latter were an option), but gave it three stars because the brightness of the light and the option of two different light temperatures (yellowish vs. bluish) are better than any competing devices I've seen.
