Great Litter - With Some Adjustments
My cat has a very sensitive respiratory system and cannot do clay litter. I prefer clumping and didn’t want to use crystal litter after trying it. This litter has been great for the past 4 years! For odor, I use charcoal granules and mix them in with the litter. This does the trick for controlling any odor (it does okay on its own but this is much better). It clumps just fine and I don’t smell anything with daily scooping. When I had two cats, I did need to scoop twice daily to to prevent odor (they preferred to share a box instead of using multiple). This litter is not dusty at all and smells natural and clean. Be sure not to get the scented version if your cat is sensitive to smells - the bags look almost the same. It’s also important to note that this litter is very lightweight, so price comparison by weight is not all that useful. I find that with one small cat that used a medium sized litter box, I use 1 bag per month. I fill up the box with about 59-60% of the bag, then use the rest to refill as needed when scooping. This may vary if your cat needs more than 2-3 inches of litter or has a bigger box. I find that this litter tracks an average amount, similar to clay. I was able to get rid of this issue with a proper litter mat. I use a rubber mat with lots of grooves. I find it’s more effective with this litter over the trapper-style mats and also easier to clean. This litter is compostable! If you are into composting, this litter can be composted for NON-FOOD items such as cut flower gardens, flower beds, your yard, etc. Note that pet waste should never be used in compost intended for edible gardens. With some small adjustments, this litter has been a great alternative to clay. I love how much lighter it is and no more dust!

Best litter i've ever used and ZERO dust!!!!
My sister told me about this grass seed litter so I gave it a try. I have now permanently switched from wheat litter that I was using for 12 + years. Don't let the price scare you away because first of all, the grass seed packs cat pee like cement thus it does not fall apart into the litter box when you scoop it out, so the litter box stays cleaner longer and i'm using less litter overall! The pee also does not stink like it did with the wheat litter. The wheat litter would fall apart while scooping which made pee crumbles in the rest of the litter and it left the plastic of the litter box wet and nasty. I had to completely wash the box & fill with new litter every 5 days. With the grass seed litter, it does not stick to the bottom of the litter box thus keeps the box cleaner longer which to me is a major time and money saver. Overall if you look at it that way, this initial cost for 1 bag actually is worth it in the long run because you do not have to use as much or change the box as frequently. It does track a little but no more than any other litter. I bought an indoor/outdoor mat that is like 3'x5' and it's easy enough to vacuum which people should do regularly anyways..... Also, the biggest plus of this litter is NO DUST!!! No cloud of dust like the wheat litter when pouring fresh litter into the box or when scooping, or when the cat is excavating and literally building a pyramid. Great product! 10 stars if I could give that many!

LOVE this litter!
I grew up having cats my entire life. I’m 33 now and living alone with my 2 year old cat, Trixie. I was using OkoCat wood litter in a normal pan litter box. But last year I ordered a PetKit Pura Max automatic litter box. After doing a lot of research I found the Pura Max seemed like the best option for my cat. I despise clay cat litter. I hate the smell of clay litter, it’s heavy, it’s so dusty (even the ones that say 99% dust free). I joined a group on FB for the Pura Max to see what others used for litter. I discovered from my research that the OkoCat wood litter did not perform well in the Pura. So I tried this unscented grass-seed litter I originally purchased at PetCo. The smell alone is great, it’s super light weight, and no dust! It works amazing in the Pura Max, doesn’t stick to the bottom liner. I also tried a walnut shell litter that stuck to the bottom and deteriorated the bottom liner and I had to order a new liner for the Pura litter box. I briefly switched to a different kind because the grass-seed attracted sugar ants and I had ants for 3/4 months in the beginning of this year (2023). I live in a studio apartment that had just been renovated in 2020 before I moved in, so to be fair there were a lot of little nooks that hadn’t been sealed, thus prone to ants, etc. Once I had maintenance at my apartment complex seal the hole where the ants were coming from that took care of the issue, and I switched back to the grass-seed with no problems! I guess the grass-seed litter has a small sugar content in it making this litter valuable to sugar ants. Other than that it’s been great. I can’t say enough about this brand litter. I have not tried the lightly scented one, I don’t like scents in general (unless they’re of natural origin). *not sponsored, but sponsor me*

I really wanted to like this
I love the idea - what's more recyclable than grass seed? It clumps well, smells fine, cats like it. But it tracks e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e. It gets stuck in between the cats toes and shows up all over. This just won't do ....

Odor Control With Tracking Trade Off But Manageable
Hands down, this is the best cat litter I have used so far. The biggest advantage of grass seed litter is the odor control—it eliminates that "nasty" litter smell. However, there is a trade-off: tracking. Because the grains are light, they travel easily. But don't let that stop you; you just need the right setup. I successfully manage the mess by using a "top-exit" litter box, which forces the cat to shake off their paws before hopping down. I also pair it with a good litter mat to catch the tracks.
