Not only does it operate more easily than the typical mechanism, it has a solid feel to it making the rings and opening/closing mechanism of all the other binders I've used feel either extremely flimsy or difficult to use in comparison (given that unlocking some of the other expensive, and therefore not flimsy, binders I've used for corporate records can take serious effort and then lining some of these others back up again to relock can be an exercise in frustration). The D-rings themselves also feels solid and has a slightly more precise shape than I've experienced with less expensive binders (and, actually, even some slightly more expensive ones that I've used for corporate records) making the pages lie extremely neatly even when the binder is filled to capacity.I know it seems strange to practically be waxing poetic over a binder but this one really does have a much smoother and more solid feel than any of the others I've used and I've used hundreds, if not thousands, of them over the past four decades or so to organize materials/documents for various client projects and corporate records. I'm definitely a convert to Bindertek and can't believe I never tried their binders before. The biggest downsides being the cost.. so it won't be practical to use them for most projects... and with this particular finish I would anticipate the currently pristine aluminum becoming scratched over time. I apologize to the seller for saddling it with a review that belonged to somebody else. In fact, this aluminum binder is quite sturdy and well built, is entirely satisfactory and perfectly suited to its intended use.
