Motion Sensor LED Wall Lighting Sconce, 7W Warm Light Outdoor Waterproof Adjustable Wall Lamp, Motion Detector Garden/Hallway/Pathway Porch Light

An excellent and compact light that I installed on a short fence post for stair/pathway lighting. It was nice to replace a traditional (and giant) two bulb motion sensor light with this attractive light. My only wish is that the sensor was mounted a bit further below the case. I have found that because of the partial case obstruction I cannot get 180 degrees of motion coverage when mounted on a 4 foot post and thus it only detects motion within about 5-6 feet. Other than that, a great product!

It would have been a great light, but installation was ridiculous. Unless you are some sort of expert electrician, find a light that’s easier to install. Returned.

Good light

NONE of the holes in the circular mounting plate aligned with the holes in the base plate. I had to drill a hole in the mounting plate to install. The diagrams in the installation guide are mirror-imaged: the port in the base plate for the wires is top-right when you’re facing it, not top-left as depicted. Hope it works better than disappointing installation process!

December 2020: We purchased 3 of these, knowing that they do NOT fit standard US fixture sizes. To work around this: I purchased 3 stainless steel two-gang single-switch outlet cover plates, drilled holes for the light box mounting plate; harvested 3 US light switch top metal plates, and cut out the inner ring for the provided mounting plate, modifying to fit as needed. Sprayed the exposed parts flat black. Beautiful! And they have been working well. Note: no way to adjust these for sensitivity or duration, but out of the box they do what we needed of them. Update 2025: 1 of the 3 lights failed in early 2024. Just getting around to replacing it now. Not sure if parts are available, or if I have to buy a new one. I suppose this is a drawback to buying a non-standard (for US) LED fixture.

The product provides great light. Has adjustable “doors” to adjust the width and volume of light. However, installation is a challenge. I have installed hundreds of light fixtures but these are unique. Because they require such little power, the internal wires are only about 22 gauge. Very small. Further, the space within the fixture allowed for the make-up box of connecting to line voltage is microscopic. I could not see a practical way to connect 12 gauge wires to the 22 gauge wires inside the light fixture. I ended up creating a separate remote J-box about 10 feet from the light fixtures where I connected the line voltage to new 22 gauge wires. These were then fed to the light fixture to make connections in the tiny space. Microsurgery. The hole (with rubber gasket) in the back of the light fixture provided to allow line voltage entry is almost too small for three 12 gauge wires. 12 gauge wires do not bend easily so getting everything to fit would not be easy. This is the reason to create a separate J-box. Once installed they look great. But the motion detectors or sensor for on-at-dusk are not calibrated the same. One fixture comes on nicely at dusk, the other fixture requires near total darkness before it is activated. The difference being about 45 minutes between activation from one fixture to the other. Not a deal breaker, but just an indicator of varying quality control. All said, they are worth the money. Just be advised about unique installation issues.
