I agree children should be protected from things we believe to be harmful or dangerous to them, however, this packaging is absolutely ridiculous. I need a new battery for one of my hearings, so I gran this new package. What do I have to do to get a battery un-packaged? Well now I’m looking for an easy instruction on how to get a battery out. Ok, I see a sketch of scissors going along two sides of the battery so I cut there, I get surgical shears out and it’s very difficult to cut so I get my surgical scissors out and it’s not much better, so I fight to get a square cut along the line but that doesn’t release the battery. Now I struggle to cut nearer the battery, again through the clear plastic, hard plastic, to no avail. The battery is still tightly secured i. Its pack. This is ridiculous. Not only are children safe from swallowing these, but everyone who needs to use these batteries are unable to get to then as well. I am very confused by this packaging and I still don’t have a battery out for my hearing aid, so the aid doesn’t work. Finally, after a period of time had passed, I get a battery liberated and hope my other hearing aid never needs a new battery. This packaging has gone too far. I’m sure it can be figured out so that children are safe and I can open a package that contains an item I need to lead a normal life. This is unacceptable, this packaging has gone too far. I went today for my scheduled hearing tested and I mentioned how disgusted I was with this packaging. I was told that I’m not the only one of his patients that has complained about this. I’m complaining. Please explain to me how to open these batteries, This packaging is a mistake. Too extreme.

(Updated June 2019) These hearing aid batteries are still "da bomb!". They are still working just like I described below - I am still averaging over 9 days per battery, so my FIVE STAR RATING??? I'd give them more stars if I could! If you wear hearing aids, please, do yourself a favor and try these! SO MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE than those in drug/grocery stores, even "discount stores"... and they last longer! Questions? Feel free to ask! I'm a happy customer!!!! (ORIGINAL REVIEW - and it is all STILL TRUE!!!!!) I have worn hearing aids for over half my life. Buying hearing aid (HA) batteries is a never-ending endeavor. /I've bought them from my audiologist's office but they are SO expensive, yet I require them in order to interact with my world. I've purchased them from my local drug store before in a pinch, and unless you can catch them on sale, again, SO expensive. A few months ago my husband bought some regular AmazonBasics batteries (AA, AAA, etc) and they lasted well, so I thought, "Why not?". My question now is "Why did I wait so long to try these???". My regular name brand batteries from the drug store or my audiologist last me exactly 7 days - rarely one might last 8 days. I just had to change one of my HA Batteries today. The last time I put one in was 10 days ago.... TEN. That's three days longer than the ones sitting in the drug store or audiologist's office shelves. The other battery (as I wear two aids, one in each ear) seems to still be going for me... but I'm thrilled with 10 days! These batteries are packaged in a little box that fits in my hand (pictures), and there are 10 packages of 6 (size 312) batteries. Other brands of batteries that are size 312 are color-coded with a brown header on the card holding the 6( or 8 or 12) batteries and peel off tabs on the back of the battery - these are color-coded in exactly the same way. Note: in case you didn't know, the peel-off tabs must not be removed until you are going to place them in your HA. Once the tab is removed the battery is activated. If you leave your batteries in a hot car, and the adhesive evaporates due to the heat, your batteries could be prematurely activated and go bad before you actually get to use them in your HA! Hearing Aids have an expiration date (these that I purchased recently are good through 11/2020). Y'all - I paid less than $14 for SIXTY hearing aid batteries. That's less than a QUARTER per battery!!!!! And it was delivered free with Prime! I didn't have to get dressed and drive into town to the store, mess with expiration dates, long lines to check out.... nope, nope, nope! I have spent as much as a DOLLAR PER BATTERY at the drug store !!!!!! The ones at my audiologist's office were less than that (about 80 cents per battery). Will I purchase these again? Ohhhhh, yeah! For sure I will! I'd be crazy not to! My purpose in reviewing this and other items is only to provide my honest opinion based on my experience with the item. I returned these when I realized that unlike all hearing aid batteries on the market, this was the first packaging that required scissors to remove each battery. I did not have scissors on me when I needed to replace my batteries. Dumb design. Update: Just learned there is a law that mandates child proof packaging. Updated review to reflect quality of batteries as I have had them before.

These are working perfectly, They fit the hearing aids as advertised. Would recommend. Easy to install.

Woefully inconsistent battery power. Some batteries will last about a week, others will be dead in 24 hours. I feel like I am flying through battery changes. But I’m not, because it requires a team of WE Wrestlers to open the damned packaging. I know am not a spring chicken, but as an athlete that’s still active in his 50’s, I’m breaking a sweat every time I change a battery. My 20-something boys cry mercy when I ask them to open a battery. The law is ridiculously stupid…. Protect the kids, I’m all for that. I mourn with the parents who lost their daughter to a button battery and champion their cause for safer packaging…But… what about after the battery is discarded? Or someone opens them all up for future use and has no safe case to hold the extras in? The “geniuses” who came up with these packages need to go back to the drawing board…. Or at least try to open one for themselves. Price: 5 - a steal! Longevity: 3 - not consistent Packaging: -5 - Ridiculously dumb (Note: that’s MINUS 5)

Die Batterien halten bei meinen Hörgeräten 6 Tage. Markenbatterien halten gut 7 Tage kosten aber auch das dreifache. Ich kann nicht verstehen, daß sich so viele Leute über die Verpackung aufregen. Das man die Batterien nur mit Hilfe einer Schere entnehmen kann steht doch in der Beschreibung drin.

They are quite fiddly to get out of the packaging, but price outweighs that.
