I found it easier to measure the two measurements with a tape measure instead of calipers. I eyeballed the two measurements and erred on the large side. My measurements were an odd size, so I went to the closest approx measurement even if it was in the smaller direction. This gave me a perfect fir for my ring.I had a chance to try it out with a dry draw and the first time it slipped and the string tagged my fore arm. Not fun and I don't recommend doing this. Now I can hardly wait to get out on the range and really see how well this ring works. From what I have seen so far, the release is really smooth.By the way, my reason for using the thumb draw is because a while back I broke the first knuckle on my right ring finger and when it healed, I now get a lot of pain and discomfort when using the European three finger draw.
