GREAT Product! (PH Buffer + Nutrients)
EXTREMELY fine bag of powder (when taking it out of the envelope on the porch, my neighbors looked oddly at the giant clear bag filled with fine white powder I held in my hand, which was funny). I personally like the simplicity of the packaging, bc while simplistic in appearance... it is a heavy bag with a strong zipper that is not too difficult to close. The only way it would be better is with a Ziploc style slider piece. The info is posted right on the front of the bag though... and it is very informative. The product itself works beautifully. Although it does not seem to be the most soluble in water, it still effectively changes the PH when made into a suspension in water. While using a calibrated meter, I was able to see the results of ph alone, mix with nutrients and directly applied to the soil. All methods worked great. When applying a generous amount to a cup of water (tbsp of Dol to a quart I believe), The meter displayed very alkaline readings, running around 10 on the scale. When applied to a potted plant (adding by sprinkling on the soil), then watered... it successfully brought a ph run off of 6.2 up by a few tenths of a point (Nearing 6.7 six hours later). The direct application to water was a bit trickier. I would not apply a ton to your liquid unless you have a digital ph meter. It will help tremendously. First you would add your nutrient mixes, test the ph, then add a 1/4-1/2 tsp at a time and mix. The reason this is more difficult is bc you add the nutrients... (which, in the case of Fox Farms Tiger Bloom, a tsp:gal drops ph by roughly 2-3 points / 100-1000x more acidic) and the nutrients act as a buffer. So you can add more of the dolamite compared to reg water. When playing around with additional nutrient mixes, I really would recommend a digital ph meter. Without this tool, you are adding chemicals and creating chemical reactions blindly... not knowing how it affects the plants until it's nearly too late. Ph problems will mimic multiple deficiencies at the same time, which is unpleasant for you, your plant, and the overall health of your garden. Once one plant gets deficient, it can become poor in health, spreading the problems eventually to the rest of the garden. Back to the product, it's an EXTREMELY fine grind of dolamite that's a great source of magnesium and calcium while also acting as a ph buffer. Having it in your garden will allow a slow drift back to neural soil, or at very least, a buffer against stronger acidic fertilizers.

I love this product
I love this product! I use this for my vermiculture tubs as PH buffers because it neutralizes acidity as it forms keeping those pesky acidic loving Pot worms at bay. Bare in mind for folks who doesn't know that pot worms isn't really bad for your worm bins.. Just like your normal average earthworms or nightcrawlers, these little white Pot worms also helps break down decaying organic matter even faster and produce healthier rich organic soil out of worm castings. If you folks see a couple hundreds of em per square inch it wouldn't hurt, but seeing thousands of em per square inch you should panic since they "can" out compete with your earthworms for food. I personally don't like them simply because they rob almost half of my African Nightcrawlers food supply on the surface in just one night after feeding purina worm chow! Again, I am not totally against Pot worms since there are folks out there who loves em, but am just doing this in favor of my African, European, and Alabama jumper earthworms because i also use lots, i mean "lots" of em for my fishing baits not just composting..

im sure this stuff works great for larger plants
im sure this stuff works great for larger plants. it was giving me calcium lockout on my early clones when I transplanted them...... but they appeared to grow into it later.. don't give to small plants!! use as a soil amendment, not a soil drench fertilizer it is too strong AND YOU WILL NITROGEN TOX YOUR PLANTS. LARGER PLANTS SEEMED TO LOVE IT

Dials in pH quickly!!!
I’ve had constant difficulties with my potted plants’ soil pH dropping to the low 5’s after a few months of adding nutrients to promote growth. The low pH always led to nutrient lock outs. I top dressed my pots with 2tbs per gallon of soil and within 2 days my runoff pH tests at 6.5. Right on the money literally within 36 hours of using this dolomite plus. The only downside is that it sets up almost like plaster increasing soil density and slowing drainage, but the quick fix of the pH is well worth adjusting a watering schedule. I’m sure that if I mix it in as a soil supplement prior to planting next spring I’ll avoid the pH creep and my soil will be fluffy and stable. Highly recommend for gardeners with pesky acidifying soil.

Wonderful product and service
I am brand new to vermicomposting. I set up the composter per die tins, then ordered my worms. They arrived today, very healthy looking and active. Looked like there were more than 1,000 to me. Wished I had two tray ready to divide them up. Checked on them a few hours later and they were making themselves to home, vigourly moving about in kitchen scraps, coffee grounds and filers. Very satisfied thus far. I plan to take some out and add to my 55 gal barrel composter when weather warms abit. Hopefully our predicted cold snap this weekend does not harm them. Dianne Gleaton

Awesome Stuff!
Every year I've had problems with my tomatoes all having blossom end rot. This year I've decided to use this before planting by dusting the top of the planting area thoroughly, watering it in, then planting a few days later. I've been harvesting tomatoes daily from 42 plants for about 3 - 4 weeks now and have not had a single rotted tomato, nor a cracked tomato. This stuff is a must have for any tomato gardener!
