Nintendo 2DS - Crystal Red (Used) [video game]

I've had my 2DS for a couple years now and I love it. Even though it doesn't have the clamshell closing like the rest of the DS family, it's very sturdy and I'm not afraid of scratching the screens. Have dropped it a few times on carpet and wood floors and it hasn't broken or anything. The clear red casing is really cool, you can see what's going on inside and it reminds me of a GBA. Only complaint is that the buttons are a bit float-y feeling, as in they don't "click" down as nicely as on a 3DS. They feel a bit cheap. But hey, you get what you pay for so that's to be expected. No 3D of course, but I'm actually thankful for that, because the 3D on the 3DS makes me feel sick. If you have a child under 7 years old, it'd probably better to have a 2DS, as watching too much 3D can hurt young childrens' eyes. Overall, I'd suggest this as a good gift for a young child as their first handheld, or for someone who doesn't want to buy a more expensive 3DS.

I love my 2DS. I've had the 3DS, 3DS XL, and New 3DS XL. I've returned all of them and stuck with the 2DS because of the form factor. I am a 25 year-old male, who has rather large hands. After like twenty minutes with the 3DS or XL my hands would cramp because of how awkward it is for me to hold. With the 2DS, everything feels great to me. I don't like the L-R buttons, but they aren't used much in the games I play. I would like for them to come out with a "New 2DS", but I doubt that will happen anytime soon! Also, it comes with a charger, I can't say that about the New 3DS XL...lol

Didn't last long at all probably two months and it started freezing up and screen turned red

Woke up this morning. Expecting to look up my tracking and suddenly saw it was delivered. Then my girlfriend tells me he forgot to tell me there was a loud bang and then the door knocked. Not Amazon's fault. But a loud bang? This is an electronic console. You don't drop something like this. 4 stars. Shipping loses one. Anyways.. Very pleased with the packaging and overall product itself. The color is a lot darker than perceived in the images. So don't worry if you think it looks "pink"ish like I did. It's a very pleasant deep red tone. The transparent casing it also very satisfying if you're looking for that childhood nostalgia. Very pleased with my new Nintendo 2DS Crystal Red console.

This 2DS reminds me of my old GameBoy Advance I had when I was a kid (which was transparent pink), and I was in need of a second system anyway, so obviously I had to buy it! It is made from a nicely textured transparent plastic that lets you see the parts inside. On to the system itself! The screen size is about the same as the regular DS. As the name implies, it does not have the 3D feature the 3DS systems have, but that never mattered to me, and it is a very affordable alternative when you just want to play a few games on the cheap. I use mine all the time, despite my having another older 3DS; I highly prefer it! The only cons I can think of are that the console itself can be a bit awkward to hold for some games, depending on the controls used, but overall, I don't think that's a big deal. If you're looking for a less pricey alternative to the 3DS XL and it's brothers, without all the bells and whistles and with a retro look, I would highly recommend this 2DS!

Package arrived on time. My grandson was so excited when he receieved it. His friends like the red clear to see inside the unit. He carries this unit around with him all the time (as I am always on the go and he puts up with grandma's running around). This game system is very entertaining for him even at the age of thirteen. I thought he might be a little bit oldeer for it, but not at all.

My son loved it. But a new redesigned 3dsxl is coming out in 2015 so I assume a new 2ds will be out also. Thanks Nintendo why didn't you get it right the first time. Greed!

It definitely looks better than the black and red (or blue) version. The buttons and joystick are all where they need to be for adult hands, too. However the OS is a little too kid-friendly for my taste, asking me to get my parents when it requires email and constantly explaining to me how every little thing works. It gets the job done playing the Nintendo games I love but comes off more like baby's first gameboy to me.

I was looking for something to remind me of the great days of game boy playing. Thus was perfect because it was cheap at 100 bucks and I would play ds and 3ds(i'm not a fan of 3d anyway. It shipped when it was expected and it good condition.

Love this console! Bought it because I can't see the 3D feature so this was a better investment!

This is much more comfortable than the regular 3DS for me. Also, gotta love that clear color, reminds my of my first Gameboy. For the price, this is great if you want to enjoy the whole library of 3DS games. If you are looking for the cheapest option though, you can get one for even lower (Nintendo Refurbished).
