Succulent Wild Woman [Sark] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Succulent Wild Woman Review: Re-examining and Rejoicing Our Femininity - In 2002, I remember speakiing to a group of women in the Philippines at a workshop on women's wisdom. When I told them that there is room in this world for everyone to shine because inside all women are fabulous--- I got a lot of unbelieving looks. A lot of women around the world, even in the United States, don't believe that they've got it in them. And that is one of the reasons why I highly recommend this book. Sark's book is about learning to be a wonder-full woman who is not afraid of life. Here "succulent" is defined with these words: ripe, juicy, whole, round, exuberant, wild, rich, wide, deep, firm, rare, female. Most women, have been raised up to be quiet and demure---keep your legs closed and your thoughts to yourself....etc, etc. Little do we realize that some of these tenets of femininity have suppressed our full expression of who we are and have prevented us from pursuing our dreams. We need to discover for ourselves how we can live life to the fullest. This book is fun, wild, inspirational, definitely different and it CAN give you ideas on how you, too, can start to find out more about your fullest self. The concepts that Sark gives in her books, starting with "Succulent Wild Woman" are that women need to live life to the utmost and that they need to love themselves so that they can love others, too. Here are some more of Sark's ideas that can lead you, too, to be your fabulous self: ...Marry yourself first...promise to never leave you... ...discover your own goodness ...dress to please yourself ...you are enough, you have enough, you do enough ...make more mistakes! And more thoughts on healing, fat, money and power, community, love and romance... What's more, there's little whining in this book---one of her best ideas is: end blaming... She's got honest, good stuff about facing our insecurities, faults and fears. I urge all of you timid and insecure women(and don't most of us start out this way?) to find your fabulous, succulent, bodacious selves.... to express yourselves....to find as much support you can get from friends, loved-ones and books like Sark's (and all other great books).... and to get out there and live a life full of love---the romantic kind is only part of this... the Universal kind is what you learn to be embraced by when you are your fullest, most succulent self! Review: Wonderful Book - The book is so encouraging and helpful for all of life's transitions.

a great gift for any woman needing a pick me up
I love SARK. This is another addition to the wonderful collection of whimsical, colorful, and insightful books she has written. Very easy (and fun) to read, if i'm ever feeling down, I just read a few pages of SARK and I always feel a little better. This book is a good introduction to the world of SARK and great gift if you know any woman that needs a self esteem boost. It's witty and deep without being tedious to read or annoyingly sweet. Sometimes we all need to be reminded that we are wonderful and creative beings and need that little inspiration to connect with our spirit to create and do things that make us feel alive. SARK shows us that attitude and small actions can make positive and unexpected things happen in our lives. she gives many examples of this from her own life. Love it! every woman should own a copy.

OBSESSED! Get this book!
I absolutely loved this book and was so happy I finally got it after sitting on a recommendation for a long time. Only sad thing was that after using it for a long term analysis (college essay assignment) some of the pages became loose and one or two fell out of the binding.

Jaw Breaking Laughs: Tried Out Advice
I enjoyed this book because it's good to dip into under its various sections, as you need/feel like it. You can keep dipping back into it as things arise, or resurface. The author has done alot of life journeying; some of it wild, some of it plain crazy - enjoy this wildness - part of the succulent WILD woman gag/ideal that she upholds as the key to a great life. We all know there's more to life that that! But it helps you think about your choices - that's what good therapy does. It's informed by her Jungian philosophy - which we, as readers can take or leave -and simply enjoy the book as it stands. The colour and content are fun after all. P.112 is a favourite. It's all about what you are just about to do again - buy another self-improvement book!! You will just laugh and laugh at yourself. I've done all these things, and honestly - if you haven't, then try out her ideas, make sure you do exactly what she suggests! While it gives you practical good ideas for dealing with the 'stuff of life' - it also helps you laugh at yourself simultaneously, and not take things so seriously - which in itself is good therapy too.

Amazing book. Encouraging and fun to read a bit at a time or all at once. Great for waiting rooms or coffee tables. Empowering, encouraging & body positive. I should have bought it in hardcover!

Like a visit to a lolly shop
This book is a feast for the eyes as well as a balm for the soul. I couldn't put it down. Easy to read and so much of what SARK writes resonated with me - as I'm sure it will with other women. Part self-help, part biography, part journal, part art-book - I've already ordered 3 extra copies, one for my mum and the remaining two for close friends. This is a book I won't give away and will refer back to when I need a lift.

A nice simple self help, self inspirational book. Felt like your peering into a diary or listening to all the words of advice your mother should tell you. The overall layout, feel of the paper and the handwritting makes the book feel very personal it's like sark is talking to you.

I am so terribly disappointed with this version from Amazon. This is not a reflection on Sark's wonderful work - but this version is cheap and nasty. A key component of Sark's work is the glorious colour, flowing up and down the page like technicolour waves on a psychedelic beach. This however was a version that used cheap, thin paper. Washed out and bleeding colour on the colour pages. Thin printing on the black and white pages. Unpleasant to hold, difficult to read. I have included two pictures - one of the cover so you can see how light the colour is, and it has none of the embossing or foil stamping of earlier versions. The other picture shows the cheap, thin paper on the black and white pages. I love Sark's work, and I 100% recommend this book and this author. But, for the full joy of this work, buy a second-hand version. Also, the item arrived damaged, a nasty big ding on the side, like a book gets when it is dropped. And the glue holding the pages together is already coming off. For a new book to be in that condition ... no, just no. Such a shame. I hope this review helps someone.
