**Q: None of the reviews mention black walnuts, which are very hard. Does this little device really work on black walnuts? I also have shagbark hickories.**
A: Last fall was my first time saving black walnuts from the back yard. This nut cracker has done the job. I've cracked open maybe 100 nuts so far (almost finished up my supply) and no problems, except maybe the slipping out problem mentioned in some of the reviews. One hand cranks while the other holds the nut in place. My biggest complaints about the whole process are hidden missed shell pieces with the nuts hurt my teeth and now I have squirrel friends who are going through my discarded shells and making a mess.

**Q: Will this work on hickory nuts?**
A: While i’ve Not had personal experience with hickory nuts, I use my cracker on macadamia nuts and a google search on the hardest nut to crack is macadamia.

**Q: Have you used this nut cracker for pili nut?**
A: I dont have that nut cracker

Almonds.Walnuts.Pecans.Hazelnuts.Brazil nuts.This will crack them all in a wonderfully controlled manner.

This will crack the Christmas nuts but it is not quite as shiny, bright and attractive as in the illustration.
