Make sure you plug it in to the correct connector when reassembling. There is another slot that is roughly the same size, if you plug it in here you will fry the motherboard (speaking from experience). Worked great on the second laptop.

This product was a perfect replacement for the switch that had failed in a customer's Dell Laptop. Replacement is labor intensive as most of the machine must be disassembled. The switch fit perfectly and performed just like new.

installed this in an Inspiron 5888. the ribbon cable was longer than the original, and wasn't bent into shape. So i had to design my own bend pattern to get from A to B and take up the extra cable. Took me much long to install than expected. In the end, the part did fix my problem and the laptop now turns on/off as expected.
