I bought this lamp to use both as a lamp and also to improve the teleconference experience in a low-light environment. This lamp does a decent job of illuminating my face when placed directly behind my monitor. Don't get me wrong, it's not great as a ring light - you don't want to be recording YouTube videos with it, but it's enough to illuminate your face so you don't look like you live in a cave. As a lamp it works well. You can pick it up from anywhere and it's solid and not in danger of falling apart. While it's sturdy, it's also extremely lightweight. For me, when not using it as a ring light I have to bend it down so that the LEDs are below eyeball level. Otherwise it feels like the LEDs are trying to bore into my eye after a while. The 4 levels of brightness are a nice bonus.

Bought the Miady desk lamp but the first one I received had a loose connection between the power cord and the lamp so when I shifted the lamp slightly on the desk, the light would go off. I processed an exchange (I sent the defective one back) and the new lamp came very quickly and works perfectly. Good light level options (3 of them) and 3 light "color" choices (from warmer to cooler whites) that don't give me a headache. I usually use the lowest brightness setting and it still provides plenty of light for me and provides good lighting for Zoom meetings. Previously I looked like someone in the witness protection program on Zoom (backlit in the tiny room at home I work from during Covid), so this is a big step up in people being able to see my face. Highly recommend both for the Miady lamp and the customer support (which may be Amazon customer support rather than Miady, but it's all the same to me.)

Wow, the brightness, versatility and maneuverability on this is phenomenal! And no I didn't just use the promt words because there is a prompt - whoever picked those prompt words chose wisely as those are the best features of the lamp!!! I love how you can change the style of lighting, how bright/dim it is, and put it at any angle!!!!!! It is SO easy to use..... It sits nicely on the top of my very tall desk - plug length reaches perfectly, and then when I have a zoom call I bring it down to my desk and it takes me 2 seconds to turn it on (touch pad works GREAT) and angle how I need!! I can change the style of lighting (not sure the technical terms, but something like a soft yellow light or a super bright light or... whatever the third one is lol) based on what time of day it is/how much sunlight I need to counter from the other side where my window is. What a great purchase!!! I now don't like a total noob on zoom calls and callers can actually see my face LOL. Love it!

This lamp is great. It offers multiple dim/bright options and different kinds of light. However, after 5 years of daily use for about 6-8 hours a day, the power button is growing brownish and is very hot to the touch. Light still works, but will need to replace due to this.

The power cord working consistently seems like an important thing. I have had trouble with the power cord since the beginning but I didn't think it was THAT big of a deal (it is) - it needs to be plugged in at juuuuust the right half-degree angle into the wall. Not straight in, but slightly tilted, about the depth of a paper clip. If it moves, anyone or anything touches the cord, the light turns off and I have to get up and go check on the plug, attempt to guess the angle, and go back and see if the red light is on...mind you, you can't leave it on while you go fix the plug, you have to go back to the lamp and check is the little red light and watching it be on and then slowly fade to black is incredibly irritating. The lamp itself works great but I hate it because it's just enough of a hassle to drive you crazy. Save your money - a replacement power cord is about $10, and that pushes the cost of this lamp up by $10.

I purchased this lamp for my mother who has macular degeneration. She has tried hand held magnifying glasses, little LED flashlights and nothing works as good as this lamp. She can finally do her puzzles in the morning paper. It’s got such a sturdy base so no worries about it tipping over. Multiple options on the tone of light and the brightness. The light is in a circle so that it event distributes onto whatever you are reading. The gooseneck allows you to pull down close or raise up higher. The center is hollow, it’s not a magnifier but you can peer through the hole and read or do crafts etc with the light evenly surrounding your project. I would recommend it. Great product for the price.

I purchased this lamp in March 2020. It was perfect for placing on my hutch while working on my computer. The brightness levels won't blind you, but it is sufficient for my needs. Being able to select different light temperatures was nice. The base is steady allowing placement in a wide variety of locations. I loved the lamp, while it lasted, or rather while the power socket in the base lasted. It does not get moved around too much but if you push the lamp up against a vertical surface it put pressure on the connector and socket. Both are very small and would not take much abuse before having issues with making good contact causing the lamp to flicker on an off. I looked into the socket and saw a metal tab that is used to provide friction to keep the connector from sliding out. I attempted to re-bend the tab but there was not enough access room. Since then, I have been thinking of ways to modify the connector, like switching a pc board mounted USB-B micro connector and the cables are popular with cell phones. Hard wiring the cable is an option as well if I'm unable to find a connector that can mount in the base. I could buy another adapter to replace the old one but finding an adapter with a barrel connector that have the right outer diameter and inner diameter, especially for that size is difficult. Besides, the real problem is the socket mounted in the base, which is trash.
