Grand Sud Merlot Bag in box, 3 L

Must have been a few good years for the Merlot grape. So many on the supermarket shelves are so nice but this one is superb. Bought one ready for Xmas 2018. Of course, had to test it, just to make sure. Had to buy another one before New Year because it was so nice and smooth. Just ordered another one (June 2019) for a dinner party and it's consistent too.

Fresh Richness is the order of the day here..Not as heavy as Cabarnet Sauvignon and has a fresh,fruity taste. This is my favourite wine to drink with Chinese food. Well-packaged and a reasonable price. I like it.

This is a young, light, fruty ensemble which actually started disappearing rather quickly once the box had been opened, with several family members partaking (all over 18 of course). As far as other Merlots I had tried , the Grand Sud ('Big South ') I think from my (failed) 'O' Level French , is not the smoothest experience I have every had - a slight bitter aftertaste saw to that. But as someone who consumes a lot of red wine I can say it is by far from the worst Merlot either and if you are looking for value , a three litre box of this 13% avb red from the South of France to your doorstep might not be a bad move.

I am not a huge drinker, especially when it comes to wine, so I took this along to a family gathering where I knew it would be drunk by people with much more expertise than me! I asked them what they thought at the end of the evening and they had thoroughly enjoyed it.

I found this to be a very average merlot (isn't every merlot?), but in a good way. It's perfectly drinkable and I'd buy another box if it became available again. Recommended.

This is a great way to provide red wine at parties! It is easy to set up and the wine itself is of high quality: a deep, rich, smooth red with plenty of Summer berry notes. As long as you keep it in a cool place before serving you should be fine with this. Evidently, the wine lasts up to six weeks once opened. We haven't been able to test this having drunk it all at one sitting.

Exactement ce qu'on demande à ce prix. Peu de typicité, mais c mieux qu'un merlot trop fruité. J'y reviendrai

Chiaro non è il solito vino in cartone devo ancora assaggiarlo sarà buono senz'altro..conosco il vino.

Nachdem ich diesen Rotwein nun bereits 14 Mal bestellt habe, denke ich, es ist an der Zeit, meine Begeisterung zu teilen. Dieser Wein hat sich rasch zu unserem Hauswein entwickelt - und das aus gutem Grund! Er schmeckt nicht nur hervorragend, sondern ist auch noch preisgünstig. In der Großpackung (3Liter) eben auch günstiger als in der Flaschenabfüllung und man rennt nicht dauernd zum Glascontainer! :-)) Aus dem Kanister schmeckt's genau so gut wie aus der Flasche! Von der ersten Flasche an waren wir begeistert von seinem reichen Aroma und dem vollen Geschmack. Er passt zu fast jedem Gericht und ist auch solo ein Genuss. Der Preis dieses Weins ist angesichts seiner Qualität wirklich beeindruckend. Für alle, die nach einem zuverlässigen, schmackhaften und erschwinglichen Rotwein suchen: Hier habt ihr ihn gefunden! Wir werden sicherlich noch viele Flaschen (und Kartons) bestellen.
