He's 8yrs old and I believe he will be able to use this for at least a couple of yrs. My oldest son (22 yrs old) was into skateboarding for many yrs so I know, kind of, the good boards vs the cheap ones. This board seems to be a well made board. It's definitely better than the one he originally asked for. He's very pleased so that's all that matters! Also, it arrived much sooner than was promised when it was ordered. My biggest complaint would have to be the trucks; they seem flimsy and of poor quality. The board felt unstable under turning even after tightening the bushings pretty far down.
