I mounted the rear camera inside my van on the top plastic trim above the tailgate glass. Keeping it inside will eliminate any damage from car wash and weather. I thought the tint on the window would effect the image, but it has little effect on it. I purchased a led back up light to supply more light at night. it works great. Very easy to install, I only have use of one arm and I just needed help placing the cord under the seal of the windshield.
