Yes, the water does pour through the filter at a rapid rate of knots, as others commented. However, after dubiously taste-testing, I found the taste to be very acceptable after all. I can't say it was exactly as good as Brita filters but it was certainly good enough to be a close contender. AND the price makes it very good value.My local water tastes (to me) pretty disgusting - undrinkable, to me.
