Aluminum? Stainless Steel?** A: Not sure why so many clowns say it's stainless. It's not. Even if the description didn't say aluminum (but it does) the price alone makes it obvious you aren't getting stainless. **Q: Can this be installed on the top of the door frame?** A: I bought two and have them installed about 6 inches above the deadbolt. You can install anywhere on the door. If you install them on the top of the door frame it could impede closing the door. It would drop down and make it difficult to close & open the door. If you wanted to use them to prevent young children from getting out, just install it further up the door jam. I recommend these! If they are in the locked position you can not open the door with a key. Great for someone who lives in an apartment. The landlord could not come in & surprise you if you were sleeping or in the bathroom. **Q: I installed this and it locks….too well. I can’t open it without prying it with a putty knife….not ideal…did I do something wrong?** A: Make sure that the door is closed completely then slide the latch across the door to the right and lift the latch toward you. The lock door puts pressure on the lock.
