These bases feel solid. Think they're solid rubber. Do yourself a favor and order better stakes though. The ones they provide, suck. Just need two per base, but there's holes for 4 each base. Buy them

Good Saturday bases! Nice and heavy!

I am an owner of a coed softball league and the fields we play at do not have base posts. The bases are soft and sturdy. They come with a bracket that is secured into the ground with plastic nails (included). Once the bracket is secured the base is placed on top. The fit is very snug making the base immovable.

I have not tried out these bases yet, but seem to be pretty sturdy and well made. My plan is to maybe replace the plastic "nails" for metal and my only complaint would be that for something being called a Safety Base Set that it would have included a safety base for first base. I should have read more carefully, but thought that an orange base might have come with the set as well. If there are any suggestions on what other people have done to create their own safety base with this set, I'd be interested!

I bought these several years ago. We play baseball year round here in AZ so they get plenty of reps. Multiple practices a week, games, etc.. out in the sun, rain, and mud. Not a chip, crack or break on them. My only “negative” is that the stakes are cheap and don’t last. Went and purchased metal stakes for a $1 at Walmart. I will buy these again if I ever need another set.
