Been working for years now with no issues
Great mic, sound quality is clear but its not a studio mic so just remember that. I have been using this since 2021 now and its 2025, i use it all day every day for work zoom calls and all night for gaming on discord, never had any issues. Only down side is needing to charge it, but I have a long cable and use put an extra mount on my headphone stand, that turns it into a desk mic for when its charging. I would love to order a new one but the lack of USB C is holding me back ! Build quality has been good, No noise or hiss, and picks up my voice fine with voice activation, previously was using a Blue Yetti but it kept picking up all my keyboard noises so found this and have never looked back.

Excellent Quality
As expensive as this is, it's a top quality microphone and fits my setup really well. Extremely clear, I use it on MS Team's calls at work.

Brilliant audio quality, however older models have range issues, but support was excellent
I bought this in January 2020, and when I got it the range was awful, even when sat just 60cm from the receiver the microphone was losing connection to it, for a while I tried to put up with it, but the longer I used it the more frustrated I got with it, it was so bad that the only way to use it was to plug it in with a charge cable and sit with the microphone right above the receiver. It was so bad I considered returning it until I saw that there was a product replacement program for ModMic wireless bought after August 2019, and I got in touch with Antlion support to see if they would replace it or if a refund was the better option. I got in touch with them on the 24th of March, I received a reply a few hours later asking for an audio recording to demonstrate the issue, as soon as I sent that recording they authorised a replacement to be sent within a day of first contacting them. The kicker and what impressed me the most is that they did not require me to even go through the effort of returning the original, which I was fully expecting to have to do. It took just 5 days to get the new one, and I am delighted to say that the new one is flawless, the quality is excellent and the range is so much better it's not even funny, if you order one and you have the range issue others have complained about, then send them an email with a copy of the invoice, and they should be able to help you. The email address you should contact is [email protected] It is pricey, and the issue with range was a deal breaker and the fact that the device made it to retail without this issue being picked up is why I can't give it 5 stars, but the customer support I received was exemplary, and the new one is fantastic for audio quality and range, and for those reasons I'm leaving it a 4 out of 5.

Brilliant
Great portable wireless mic that is easy to use and works with pretty much any pair of headphones and has a long battery life, it can be also charged while using it with the micro USB cable it comes with Its much better than a gaming headset as it gives you the freedom to use any pair of headphones you'd like. Easy to setup and easy to use and has excellent quality for a wireless mic

Incredible sound quality, but really annoying lack of pairing memory!
Positives and negatives, which shouldn't really be the case at this price point. I would like to start with a statement about the sound quality on this mic - it is absolutely incredible considering the wireless and "headset-mounted" nature of the mic. For context, I am using this with my Sony WH-910N (wireless headset) that has fantastic noise cancelling and great audio quality on the headphones side, but the quality drops when I enable the mic and put it in headset mode. The ModMic attaches very easily with incredibly strong magnets, even to the soft rubber casing and allows me to run my headset in maximum quality "headphone-only" mode. The audio recording quality of the ModMic seems to be on a par with decent quality streaming microphones (larger ones on a boom) and several colleagues have commented that it sounds like I'm in a recording studio when I switch to this one from my office Plantronics headset and I'm in a small "bouncy" room with several fans, so a fair bit of white noise to cancel. Despite the slightly excessive price tag, I would buy another one of these as soon as they overcome the two main problems, but until then I would only give this a fairly reserved recommendation given the one main negative (and one minor one): Negatives: Minor nuisance, but the power connector is still micro USB: USB-C has been around for ten years now and mainstream on every high-end device that I've purchased in the last 8 years. I can only assume that the design is over ten years old as even budget rechargeable devices are all USB-C now. I'm really hoping that re-release a USB-C version soon, especially if they fix the main annoyance at the same time.... The main nuisance is the pairing "memory".... or complete lack of it! Every time your computer goes to sleep it will lose the pairing. The only way to avoid this is to remember to manually turn the headset off (2-3sec press on the power button) before the PC goes to sleep, then turn it back on when you start using it again. It will almost certainly unpair itself a lot and re-pairing is done by holding the dongle button for several (~5-10?) seconds and doing the same for the mic power button, which puts them into the high speed flashing that indicates pairing, which normally completes in a further 5-10sec, sometimes needs to have the USB dingle unplugged, re-plugged and repeated. This will result in around 20sec delay (sometimes 1min+) from the time that you realise your PC has been asleep and unpaired the mic until you can talk on a call.... very frustrating as sometimes happens several times each day. I've tried the ModMic Discord support channel and apparently there is no BIOS patch to fix this, it is "normal and expected behaviour". Once it is working, this mic is amazing... if you're using the PC all day, it's great and battery life seems to pretty good - they claim 11h and I'm sure I've used it continuously for 8h+ on a regular basis.... problem is that it just unpairs WAY too often, seemingly due to a fairly major design oversight which is really annoying given the seriously premium pricing of the unit. If I had to buy another right now, I would probably opt for the wired version... I don't need the mic all the time, so the inconvenience of detaching the mic to walk around with my wireless headphones still on is probably less than having to re-pair the mic so often. Bonus would be around 80% saving over the wireless.

Excellent
Great product, used to upgrade the mic on multiple VR headsets. Only gripe is that it does not charge using USB-C, but this is expected giving it is quite an old product.

Best external microphone I've purchased
I hate having self standing or on arm microphones, I feel like they get in the way, they're not THAT amazing and overall, I like to be able to walk around with my headphones and speak to people. This microphone is AMAZING, people I talk to don't realise it's a microphone mounted onto a pair of headphones/headset and think it's a studio quality microphone. I did have major connectivity issues before, however AntLion since did a recall and replaced everyones defected units and since then, flawless.

The worst item I have ever purchased
This device has been nothing but trouble since I opened the box. I have never in all of my history as a consumer been so upset by how utterly terrible a device was. **Pros** - When it works, it sounds great - The concept is great **Cons** - Constant syncing issues - It often gets itself stuck into a mode where it is attempting to pair with the receiver. It will sit there and blink until the battery runs out. If you try to hold the power button on it to turn it off, it does not work. The only thing that I have found that works is leaving it to run the battery completely dry which takes an extremely long time as it (to its disadvantage in this scenario) has a good battery, and the only thing draining it is that STUPID led on the right side of the headset. - They randomly decided that it would be more optimal to supply you with a case that you will likely never EVER use rather than give you a product life-time supply of the 3M glue/magnet pads that you need to put this thing on a set of headphones. I can appreciate the sentiment but overall, a very stupid decision in my honest opinion. - It will constantly register itself as a new input. So you end up with 8-Antlion modmicXXX where 8 is the number of times it has decided to register a new audio device. This happens on LINUX as well as on windows. I did most of my testing on windows because that is what I want to use this thing for, but with this issue I tried a second operating system to confirm it was not windows being stupid. - Absolutely zero indication that you are about to lose power except through the use of the lights that show up on the side of the headset which you can't see unless you have alien eyes, or on the USB, which you probably also can't see if you are a normal human like me and you plugged it into the back of the machine. So your options are either be without a battery indicator OR have a big ugly dongle permanently stuck into the front of your case. If you want a better recommendation than buying this microphone, promptly set two fifties on fire. You will at the very least be much less frustrated than I was having tried to use this STEAMING pile of garbage. If I could give a rating less than 1 out of 5 I would. This product is deserving of a negative 5 out of 5.

Sounds great, works very well.
Used on an HTC Vive and corsair virtuoso headset. Attached to both fine and very convenient for switching between those devices easily. Would reccomend.

Great sound and features at a price
I use this mic like a lot of people, to augment my audiophile headset. I have a nice headset that plugs into a headphone amp. The headset has no mic, and the amp has no mic line in. For me, this wireless mod mic is the answer. It magnets to my nice headset, and doesn't require a mic line in port anywhere near by. It sounds amazing. I use this for work from home, so I take calls using it all day long. The battery has no issues getting through an 8 hour work day with heavy use. I have received compliments on my sound quality, and no one has reported any difficulty hearing me. I used the extra magnet base on the corner of my monitor. I can magnet the mic there, with the boom arm sticking up, and switch the mic to the omni directional. It now works fine as a mic that way if I feel like using speakers instead of my headset. My only gripe with this product is that it is very expensive. It is high quality, and has been reliable though, so I guess that's worth it. Antlion is nice to include a USB charging cable, a USB extension cable for the adapter if you need it, an extra magnet base, some extra sticky pads, and a nice zip up shell case for your mic and accessories. If you've got an audiophile headset you want to use for work/gaming then ModMic is the answer. If you're wired in to an amp with a mic line in, or you wire straight to your motherboard, I'd say get a ModMic 4 or 5. Attaching it's cable to your headphone cable is easy, and they both go to the same place. If you've got a wireless headset, or mic line in, like me, then this wireless ModMic is the way to go.
