You had better believe it! We were surprised at the weight of these chairs when they arrived, not really having paid too much attention to the product information, but just knowing we liked the look of the chairs.While the seats are overall slightly smaller than the seats on the chairs we had in the past, they are thicker and firmly cushioned. Our old chair seats measured approximately 16 to 17 inches, and these measure less than 16 inches, but that does not make them any less comfortable. And for those of us who tend to be a little bigger, well, on the part we plant on the seat of the chair, not to worry. There is ample room for our ample behinds. Not only that, but the chairs are so strong that I do not have to worry that I am going to wind up splat on the floor. No way are these chairs going to give out even under a very heavy person.The chairs themselves are very attractive. Our previous ones were red, so we have less color in the kitchen area now. But that gives us an excuse to put down new tiles, and we are going with a rustic Aztec look. The burnt color will be great with the grey chairs.One thing not mentioned is that the chairs have four large silver buttons on the back, two on each side near the top. (See my customer image.) Possible support anchors for the chair. We were not expecting them, but they do not detract from the appearance of the chairs. Also, we were thrilled that the chairs arrived assembled. We took them out of the boxes, wiped them down, and set them in place! I was thinking about maybe buying 2 more, but they’ve gone up $75 since I bought them a few weeks ago. I stretched my budget to buy the first two, but can’t afford the new price. I also bought two others to try that I ultimately returned, but their price dropped $20 the day after I bought them and no price reductions. I would advise to check prices every few days. I must add, very good customer service from Richardson on my return.
