Good clean sound, very balanced rhythm section, great leads - they come together like a good instrumental band should. NOT for heavy-metal fans - few vocals, mostly the earliest tracks, very few special effects - just good solid playing with great technique - enjoy this at home or in the car! Great find - took a tip from some guitar veteran friends of mine and bought this collection. Not disappointed - nice to listen to the progression in their songs - I can see why they lasted so long. Good clean sound, very balanced rhythm section, great leads - they come together like a good instrumental band should. NOT for heavy-metal fans - few vocals, mostly the earliest tracks, very few special effects - just good solid playing with great technique - enjoy this at home or in the car!

A great Shadows music collection!
Brings back memories of our high school band. We played a lot of their music. These cds have the Signature Shadows sound and their classic instrumental hits. One comment though, number 6 cd is practically a duplicate of no.3 otherwise still a great collection!

Great Instrumental Guitar Band
This is one of my inspirational bands for playing guitar. I first heard them in Europe in the 1960's and I collected a lot of these songs on vinyl but it's great to have them in one collection on cd.

Un indispensable
Super coffret. Je possède pas loin de 33 LP et j'ai trouvé des morceaux que je n’avais pas. Je pense que c'est le coffret qui couvre le mieux la période 59 à 65. Indispensable à tous ceux qui sont fan de Hank et ses acolytes. Pour compléter le tout j’ai également commandé le coffret couvrant les années 59 à 80 et comprenant 4 CD. Avec ces 2 coffrets on est certainement pas loin de posséder l’ensemble de leurs morceaux si on excepte les albums solo de Hank Marvin et surtout le très difficilement trouvable « HANK MARVIN GUITAR SYNDICATE »

New, Improved Shadows
I have the original Early Years box set. That was impressive but stingy on tracks, only 20 tracks on each of 6-CDs. This 'enhanced' version goes much deeper and adds 30+ tracks with a better booklet. To my ears it sounds better too... have they bumped up the sound? This set is really complete, covering every track they recorded between 1959-1966. Couldn't resist the bargain price and super fast delivery from Amazon. Thanks, this set made my day!
