Sunripe Fruit Cake Mix (32 oz./2 LB)

With Christmas baking right around the corner...and our local stores no longer having this type of product in stock...I needed to get this or watch my usual Christmas baking present disappear. Pros: - quick delivery - sized as expected - tastes just as expected and hoped for Cons: - a tiny bit more expensive than the ones in the city stores (a sudden trip made me realize this) I use this to bake German Weihnachtsstollen and have used this brand for years. (I freeze the extra to the next year). It has a nice sizing of the fruits, great taste and the mixture I prefer to have. This one came quick and at a price I find totally okay. So, Christmas baking can soon commence!

I make plum puddings, and fruitcake . I tried the recipe on the package instead of making my usual Plum Pudding. It was a good fruitcake. I think the recipe might need some adjustment between the flour amount liquid. It tended to fall apart fairly easily and I packed it very tightly in an Angel food cake pan. I used cheesecloth soaked in Brandy and wrapped it tightly, and checking on it to make certain everything was still moist with Brandy. It was very tasty. The fruit mix was so nice and fresh.

Super super fresh. I know that many do not eat fruitcake. But that is because you have never eaten the real thing. I have been making fruit cake for over 50 years. Started with my family and learned that the 11th commandment is that "Thou shalt make fruitcake every year for thy mother and father". Real fruitcake makes your taste buds sing. I have converted many people who swear they will never touch fruitcake. This mix is the freshest I have ever gotten and will buy from this seller as long as I can.

I used the fruit to make a traditional family fruitcake for my elderly uncle. The flavor was just right and I liked the thickness. These chunks are a bit bigger than other brands. The value for money is good. The price for two pounds was ja little more than I have paid for one pound. I used the extra to try a new cookie recipe.

My mother ordered this item. It took a veeeeeeeeery long time to be delivered. Once it was delivered it was in a Walmart box, not an Amazon box. I found that to be a little wierd. Then we opened the box and we found the bottle cracked and the fruit bits had melted in the box. This is very disappointing. I don't know what we can do with this.
