Solid design for those looking for a tacti-cool hydration pack!
This is a great piece of kit! Being a martial arts instructor the hydration pack is great for in between classes where I can duck out into the back room, get a few gulps of water and jump right back into the fray. AND THEN this bag covers a bunch more of my more active parts of my day, I can keep a bunch of extra peripherals in here like band-aids, toiletries as I spend more nights of the week at friends' houses than my own, snack bars, electronics, you name it! It's no Bag Of Holding, but it's surprisingly useful if you make a habit of keeping it near you. It makes for a great way to keep smaller items of great use in one place, and if you are able to top it off frequently with clean water, you'll find yourself rarely going thirsty. The 2.5 liter water capacity is great for long trips by yourself or shorter excursions with a group as you can hold enough for your buddies should they need any and the easy to remove bitepiece allows to turn into a walking water tap. Paired with its storage capacity, its ideal for long active days where replenishes are few and far in between. The only downside I can see is its weight. While I personally don't mind wearing this bag fully stocked on my person and it is not a considerable bit of mass, it IS 2.5 liters; filled to capacity, that's more than the weight of a party-sized coke bottle on your back before factoring in anything you'd like to carry in its pockets. I carry out most of my endeavors on foot, but I can easily envision this bag being a boon to bike riders who also appreciate its tacti-cool aesthetic. If you don't mind the weight, or need the capacity this bag is a solid buy.

A perfect balance between cost and quality..
This product falls right in the sweet spot between cost and quality.. The pack, itself, is extremely durable and obvious military grade. It's weather resistant.. water trickles right off of it. After inspecting this, I am also confident this material will not rip due to the pattern used when producing the material. I feel like you could literally take this pack into battle with you. As you already know, there are other packs on the market for less money and more money, however, the cheaper packs will be more cheaply made.. not to mention having the appearance of something possibly made for kids. The more expensive packs couldn't possibly be of a better quality, but perhaps it's desired to show off a particular brand name in order for others to know you spent a lot. Personally, if it looks good and is made of good quality.. I don't need logos or branded tags to show off. Moving on to the water bladder. It does hold water without leaking.. I've filled it to test. It's durable.. I've dropped it onto hardwood from roughly 6'. I've applied pressure to try and catch any leaks.. there were none. I'm sure it could drop from much higher, but I'm not really out to bust this thing for the sake of bragging in a review. There are more expensive water bladders out there.. if you feel the need to walk around with a chem/bio resistant drink bag. Who knows.. there could be a third world war followed by nuclear winter where everything on the earth's surface becomes contaminated by lethal amounts radiation. You'll still have a couple liters of water to drink in the mean time. Me, personally.. I'm just taking this camping. I also plan on mixing an "adult beverage" to store in this, rather than water. I'm sure it's not too recommended, but I'm going to. If there is no further edits to this review.. it'll mean it worked out fine, and I'm sure it will as I have done this numerous times.. even with cheap bladders. If it does ruin the bladder, my review will remain 5 star, but an edit will be added to forewarn. I can't possibly be the only person to use this type of product in that manner. Anyhow.. my overall thoughts of this product is that you could most likely drop this from a helicopter, battle through a war with it on your back and have a nice mixed drink afterwards.. or during. Whatever floats your boat, I'm sure this product will handle it. Though the actual bladder may have its durable limitations, the pack would probably survive a few wrestling matches with a grizzly bear. You may not, but.. this pack probably would.

Well built pack but more desert camo in color.
At first glance out of the box I was going to send it back. The color was off; not the ACU of the rest of my uniform. However, upon feeling the heft of the pack; I thought "This thing feels substantial, must have good insulation." So I took a closer look. Come to find out there are quite a number of interesting features. The stitching is good around the entire pack. I'm very fussy about this as how many times has one section begun to unravel on something you bought? The bladder is very well insulated and well protected. The interior of the pack is of a waterproof nylon so no leaking through to the exterior. The pockets have redundant securing clips as well as the zippers. In other words; if the zipper ever fails, the clips would keep your gear secured in the storage area. The bladder itself has a large opening to accommodate ice cubes of any size. There are clear indicators for proper securing of the locking cap. There is a cover for the bite valve so dirt won't stick to the moist bite valve and chances of bite valve being torn off or damaged is removed. There is a on/off valve in case the bite valve assembly does get torn off. The bite valve assembly is on a 360 degree rotating elbow. It's a bit bulky but I appreciate the security of it. However, upon taking the pack on it's tryout on a trail run, I immediately noticed that you need to use a strong draw to get acquit water flow. I'm looked at the tubing and noticed that both ends of the tube are secured to the fittings with shrink wrap, nice touch but may be the cause of the hard draw. I noticed when the tube is removed the fittings don't leak. So if the tube is removed from the bladder the water will remain secured. The shoulder straps have velcro closures on the ends to secure the excess from adjusting the straps, very nice touch. The waist band also has securing bands. The padding that rests against your back or battle vest is very comfortable. The front of the pack has daisey chains top and bottom. There is a chest strap that keeps the shoulder straps from slipping off. All in all this is a quality product that feel will serve me well on many fronts. My only gripe is the color match, and a bit of a hard draw. Both of which can be easily overlooked.

Solid product even after a year of heavy use
Came back to write a review after a solid year of use. I love this pack so much mainly because it’s held up to the abuse I’ve put it through after a year of intense training for the military. I love that it includes elastic straps to fold and tie down excess straps, has great compartmentalization within the storage space, (keys, carbs, and wallet won’t bounce around) and I love the long hydration straw which can be clamped down so it doesn’t bounce around. I also love how long they made the straps so I can throw it over my ruck and also make it tighter when going on long runs. They thought of everything when they made this including an emergency whistle which I’ve never had to use but is great to have. Also if you’re wondering, a Tshirt fits great in the top pocket which for me I always throw my wet sweaty shirt in halfway through runs/rucks. The molle and velcro for a patch was a great touch. I’ve also put a rolled up towel in the space between the pockets for pool days. 10/10 recommend this product and will buy again if anything happens to mine. Sidenote: mine gets completely soaked in sweat after long runs so I just take the bladder out and hand wash and air dry.

Excellent Pack for an Excellent Value
Can't say anything bad about this pack. The bag has plenty of storage, and the hydration sleeve can be used to stuff a few socks/etc.. if needed, as well as use the snap closure between the compartments to sling a shirt around or something. Used this at a music festival and several hiking day trips without issue - highly satisfied. Material has held up well, plenty durable and the padding is excellent - bar none the best I could ask for, hiking for hours and dancing/sweating like crazy and hardly noticed it was there, with the waist straps for added security. The provided bladder has been excellent as well - its more durable and has better features than alot of comparably priced packs (also comes apart easily for cleaning and has kept its seal very well), occasionally has a bit of a plasticky taste to it but theres several cures for that - either a lemon/baking soda soak overnight (FYI don't leave this for more than a day or two max, the lemon juice will get funky as hell ask me how i know) or a bleach soak, which you might have to do eventually as you use it more or forget it once or twice with water in it and it gets funky.

Great rugged hydration pack for light rides/hikes.
Feels well constructed with thick materials, no obvious or glaring quality issues. All features as advertised. Clip to hold the hose on the shoulder strap feels a bit flimsy though, would not be surprised if it breaks soon, but fingers crossed! Took it on one 18 mile nighttime bike ride so far, and it works well. Straps are comfortable and easily adjustable. pack is relatively small, but with enough space and pockets to hold everything necessary for a light ride/trip. Would like to see more sewn in pockets in the upper pouch, but it's a minor quibble. Not sure if the pack is waterproof, but the inside feels like it has a water resistant coating. Had no problems with the water pouch - some reviews say there's a chemical taste, but I followed included directions (sortof) and let 2 cups of white vinegar sit in the bladder and hose for 30 mins before rinsing - and although there was a trace vinegar taste when I was on my ride, I didn't taste anything else. There's a nice on/off valve at the end of the hose, and a quick-release switch for the bite valve. Bite valve also has a dust cover, which although I didn't need on this trip, I can see coming in handy if on a dusty ride or hike. Bottom line: great hydration pack (2.5L) with enough capacity for a light ride or hike! Good quality and features. Will update if any problems with durability.

Well worth the money
I bought the Unigear Tactical Hydration Pack Backpack for my trip to the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Park. Having used hydration packs in my earlier life I was excited to receive this backpack a week prior to my departure. I read through the instructions and actually cleaned it and filled the bladder and let it sit for a day or so prior to draining and refilling. On my trip I kept it in my truck all the time except when I was hiking or picking some supplies up from the store. I had it next to my as I was driving and continued to drink out of it on my trip. It has zippered pockets that are large enough for your wallet. knife, paperback book and so many other useful things that I ended up carrying it with just about everywhere. I liked how well made it was, the straps are all quality and will last a lifetime--If you need a really dependable hydration pack then the Unigear Tactical Hydration Pack is the one to buy--can not beat the price or the quality!

Great Pack but the Water Bladder has Issues
I wanted a hydration pack for my long runs of 13 miles or more. I took a week or more going through all of the hydration vests on Amazon, reviewing them, and looking for additional information. I found this one and really liked the design and that it had padding in the places that really needed it. Having been in the military I really liked the colors also. I received my hydration pack quickly. I was impressed with the design and sturdiness. It is thoughtfully designed so that all of the compartments are sealed up and won't flop around. Its a quality pack! The pockets are perfect for carrying extra. The straps are well designed and ensure you get a snug fit, even when the bladder is filled with water. The water bladder seemed really thin. I took my pack out, about half way filled with water, and found that it was super comfortable. Except for having the extra weight of the water on my back, I hardly knew it was there. The padding really helps to make it comfortable. It didn't bounce at all when I ran. I saw on some of the other reviews that some had problems using the drink tube. I had no issues. It was perfect! Getting ready to go out for my second run, I filled the water bladder. I then connected the drink tube to the bladder and it leaked all around where the drink tube connects to the bladder. I tried everything I could to stop it with no luck. It seems to me there needs to be more effort with designing the bladder and drink tube so that it doesn't leak. I also think the bladder needs to be designed so it's a little thicker and will be able to be more durable. Most of the problems I read about this pack had to do with the bladder, so I am guessing this is quite common. The pack itself is great, but without being able to carry water it defeats the purpose of having a hydration pack.
