## Description

Kenya AA Roasted Whole Bean, 2-Pound Bag

Review: Excellent chooce for the money - I drink coffee for health and pleasure both. I also try to be environmentally conscious and globallly savvy. Knowing that Al Mokha-Yemen, was the original port of trading for coffee ( hence the modern term Moca coffee) i wanted to experience the coffee grown in Yemeni mountains. This was the most cost-conscious choice as well as being available in medium roast ( hence higher in polyphenols / CGA etc). I ground up the required quantity and used my reusable keurig cup to make coffee. I know it would be better as a pour-over or French press etc but even with keurig there is a distinct complexity of character that you can tell. It tastes and feels unique. I had a friend over who also tried it and said the same. I appreciate the convenience of k cups but it really adds up each time you throw away the plastic so buying in bulk and then grinding in small quantities as needed works really well. Great choice for the money. I havent tried the other brands available because they were bit too much for first Yemeni coffee experience. Maybe in future. But this is a solid choice. No regrets and would buy again. Also arrived on time and in great shape. Only suggestion maybe to add reclosable packaging when cost allows it.
Review: A cup of happiness!! Once upon a time... - UPDATE: this roaster is no longer in business, does not respond to FB requests either....disappointed ... pls come back! Original review: I’ve tried a few diff varieties of Teasia coffee. At first, my brewing process was espresso pot....slighly sour in the palate finish. So I tried my pour over, same issue: a bit harshness of the roast was coming thru. Finally, my Bialetti glass coffee press, produced great Sulawesi coffee nearly perfectly balanced, nutty, round coffee flavors similar to a good Colombian whole bean. Hint: grind on Medium / fine; “burst” the beans in 1 oz. of hot water for 1 minute prior to filling the press with boiling water; and gourmet’s tip is make a blend of central Am. to African or Indonesian beans to make a pleasing blend, reason: brewers secret is that Indonesian are often complemented with a mix of 1/3 central Am. beans...Enjoy! UPDATE: tried a bag of Papau New Guinea from this roaster. Excellent, well rounded. My new fav. Superbly roasted. Pls Teasia bring back to stock.

## Features

- SINGLE ORIGIN - 100% KENYA AA COFFEE: Kenya AA is considered to be one of the world's best coffee beans - the area has a reputation for absolute excellence, especially because it lies near the region where coffee beans first originated. Grown on volcanic soils and high altitudes, beans grow slower allowing more time for flavor development and maturity.
- CUPPING NOTES: Full body and rich, strong flavor with a pleasant acidity. Fragrant floral aroma with a winey finish and berry and citrus overtones.
- PROCESSING AND ROAST LEVEL: Beans are wet-processed (or washed), where the fruit covering the beans is removed before they are dried, to ensure a clean taste and bright acidity. Our Kenya AA beans are then given a Medium roast by one of Teasia's artisanal roasters.
- FRESH SPECIALTY ROASTED COFFEE: We roast all our beans in small batches using the most advanced (and environmentally friendly) technology available to develop the unique characteristics and flavor profiles of each coffee bean. All freshly roasted beans are packed and sealed within 24 hours to ensure maximum freshness and quality.
- STORAGE AND BREWING: To preserve your beans' fresh roasted flavor for as long as possible, we recommend they be stored in an air-tight container (or very tightly seal the bag it comes in), and keep it at room temperature. Avoid light to compromise the taste of your coffee, keep them in a dark and cool location. For best results, we recommend grinding your Teasia coffee no more than 15 minutes prior to brewing!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Smells funky, tastes great
*by G***K on July 14, 2019*

I use a french press and a conical grinder to prepare my coffee. My first impression when I received this coffee was that it smelled....funky. Like damp? Skunky? It's hard to explain, but it didn't quite have that chocolatey smell of a medium roast that I was used to. Of course, this may be a quirk of Sumatran coffee (I have never bought whole-bean Sumatran before) or maybe I got a skunked batch. Either way, once I found the right grind setting and water temperature, this coffee was amazing. The fruity notes pop with a bright acidity that complements the chocolatey bitterness quite well. On the topic of actual acidity, I have a family member that often gets heartburn after coffee, but they are able to tolerate this coffee without issue. 2 pounds lasted us about a month, which is appropriate since the french press technique does require more grounds than percolation or espresso. Highly recommended, though I would like to try this brand's other offerings before I repurchase.
