The disadvantage is, if you are used to heavier beanbags it takes some time (figure on the order of an hour or so) to adjust. I was using bags over 3 ounces and I sent these out of control for a little while before I got used to them. The advantages are, first, these are especially good for kids. The catch-pass with a larger bean bag is harder for smaller hands. I've taught children to juggle, at least the basics that I know, and I wish I'd have found these sooner. It would have made that much easier. Second, they are lighter, which means they stay up longer. Not a whole lot, but enough it does make a difference and makes it a tiny bit easier for a beginner.
