### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great when you understand your target...
*by E***S on December 18, 2016*

I ordered this trap after squirrels did several thousand dollars worth of damage to equipment at our facility. The squirrels quickly figured out standard traps and easily bypassed triggers. They have yet to figure out this system. I have trapped and relocated three squirrels so far. I would like to share some of my learnings.First and foremost, unless you have a lot of squirrels that are used to being around each other and sharing feeding sites, do not expect to catch more than one squirrel at a time. Food was relatively scarce and our squirrels were extremely territorial. When a squirrel was trapped, it would run around inside trap scaring others away.Find out what your squirrels like to eat. Set up several feeding stations out of eyesight from each other. Try to limit other sources of food. If you have a lot of nut trees producing in the area, that may limit your success initially. Our squirrels ignored most food offerings including peanuts. We hit upon pecans...what can I say, they are southern squirrels...I set up my feeding/trapping sites several days in advanced. Once they got used to being fed, I would set and bait the trap. I usually had a squirrel in the trap within an hour or two. Because of skunks and opossums also liking the bait, I never left the trap out overnight. Putting the trap out in the morning and taking it back in in the evening did not seem to bother the squirrels. After catching a squirrel at one location, I would move the trap to another site. After getting a squirrel in the trap, make sure you close and secure the entrances. Watch your fingers and I would suggest wearing heavy leather gloves while handling the trapped squirrel and cage. They will be extremely upset and are prone to biting. I always cover the cage with a box or blanket. This helps to calm the animal. If you are not going to relocate the squirrel, the dispatch it as quickly and humanely as possible. If you are going to relocate the squirrel, move it at least five miles from where it was captured. Make sure you release it away from areas where they will not damage other people's property and equipment. Also, make sure that there is plenty of naturally occurring food for them.Good luck!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Make your trap automatic!!
*by A***R on January 16, 2018*

This trap works amazing! We converted ours to be an automatic squirrel killing trap that’s as close to humane as we can get within the laws here in California. We aren’t allowed to use guns or air rifles since we live in the Bay Area, nor are we allowed to trap and release since that’s illegal as well. The best we can do is give them one last snack before their demise. (If you don’t believe me on the laws, feel free to look them up yourself.)Our add-on is pretty simple to build. We removed a small portion of the cage on one side using wire snips to make an exit hole. We then attached a 3” to 4” bell reducer to the cage by drilling holes in the bell reducer and securing it with bailing wire. From there, we simply added two sections of 4” PVC and an elbow so the only way out of the cage is down the chute. Underneath the chute is a large garbage can about 1/3 filled with water. We weighed the trap down with a chunk of concrete so it wouldn’t slide off the roof.Toss a little critter crunch for bait and simply wait for the trap to do all the work. After all the setup is done, all we have to do is scoop the rodents out of the barrel and into a garbage can and then toss up some more bait every now and then. This setup is incredibly low maintenance. If killing squirrels upsets you, I’m sorry you feel that way. These buggers have been causing damage to our pine trees and almond trees for years with no end in sight. For those who think squirrels are a protected species, check your facts. Our species of squirrels are on the Vector list in California, just the same as mosquitos. This means that they are open for pest control year-round and residents are encouraged to dispatch them safely.Anyway, if you are looking for an easy way to handle squirrels that doesn’t involve guns, this trap is the answer. Get one!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Six Squirrels in 2 hours! Think I'll Keep It!!!
*by W***S on July 7, 2017*

Absolutely great! Toss a bit of dog food into the center, open the side gates and secure, turn on the open sign, and sit back and wait a bit. After the heavy rains in Northern California this last winter, we have been inundated with these critters like we haven't seen in 30 years! We were left with no choice, so we ordered up the Squirrelinator! Well, simply put, it works! The attached image is after 2 hours, and I'm sure given a few more days, we'll have the place free and clear of squirrels.
