I use this all the time, although the smell is not the best its one of the products i will always go back to. price for this is worth it and goes a long way

Best if used w/acid buffer - Great for raising pH and KH
My tap water has very low KH, so I needed something to raise it to keep my tank from major pH fluctuations, such as from my new driftwood. If you are trying to hit a specific pH, you would do well to buy the Seachem acid buffer with this alkaline buffer and mix them with a specific ratio per the instructions on the container. I had just gotten a nice large piece of wood for my tank, and didn't have the time/space to soak it separately, so I put it directly in my tank. To keep the initial wood rot and tannins from lowering my pH significantly, I got this alkaline buffer, in addition to some activated carbon. I added just enough to raise my KH to about 4 degrees and the pH to about 7.4, which is where it was before the tannins started lowering it. pH has now stabilized to around 7.3-7.4. With tank cleaning/water changes, more buffer will eventually need to be added to keep things stable. It seems to be a decent product, and was very cheap, so I'm happy.

I absolutely LOVE Seachem! I found out about their wonderful products watching Kaveman Aquatics on YouTube. I'm OH SO GLAD I did! I've had so much trouble with my tank. After a really bad ammonia spike, the PH just would not go back up. I bought this stuff because I had some plants that I didn't want to loose. Before it could be shipped, my plants died. That's how bad my tank had gotten! I still went ahead and dosed the tank as soon as I got it. ONE DOSE! My PH was perfect the next day! Also using Prime and Stability for a week has dropped my ammonia to 0 for the first time in months! I highly recommend Seachem! 👍

Took my 10 gallon from 6.0 to 6.8 and my 20 gallon from 6.0 to 7.4 in one dose!

Seachem Alkaline Buffer.
It’s the best stuff on the market, I’ve tried most all… to many $$$ lol to find this product works like it says it does! I like to dose 1/3 of recommended when your ph has dropped or went down after every water change and now it keeps my 125g tank full of Beautiful Rainbows happy and safe.
