Teeny Tiny is also subjective. ### ⭐⭐ Cute idea, not great execution - not worth spending over $10 *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2016* I've been making amigurumi for years and have been really curious about trying out one of these kits that seem to be getting more popular. When I saw this one at my local Aldi for $9.99, I decided to give it a shot! Very cute (albeit, excessive) packaging and I think the little pattern book is fairly well done. However, the first pattern I've tried (the bunny) doesn't work up correctly if followed as it's written. The binding on the paperback pattern book is obviously quite cheap. Also, the acrylic yarn included is of very poor quality, and the colors are not at all accurate to the animals depicted on the packaging and in the book. On a positive note, the book includes quite a few pictorial pointers and walkthroughs that I'm sure are helpful for beginners.The amount of yarn provides for the bunny is not enough to complete it. I haven't yet completed the Koala, so I can't speak for that one.One size G hook is included in this kit and it seems like a descent plain aluminum hook (though I much prefer my ergonomic hooks.) You should note that not all the patterns in the book use the G hook so if gifting, you should probably include additional sizes like E and F.As a side note, scissors are not included in this kit and are needed for the dolls assembly.The yarn needle included in the kit is of descent quality, though not the same one pictured in the pattern discriptions. I like that it has a yarn sized eye, but is sharp like a traditional sewing needle. This makes sewing the pieces together quite easy. The embroidery thread included for facial details is just fine.As with the yarn, the included felt is of very cheap quality, though if someone is just learning, starting out with cheaper materials is probably fine. Also, the polyester stuffing isn't very springy.I haven't tried all the patterns yet, but there seem to be a couple errors (not good for beginners). Materials are cheap, but probably worth the $9.99 with all the components included in the kit. Animals are cute, but not exactly tiny. Figures average about 5.5". In short, it may be worth trying out a different kit or just putting together a kit yourself with a book, crochet hooks, yarn and appropriate notions. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not a well-constructed kit, but cute patterns (and not "teeny tiny") *by S***. on Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2016* I basically want to echo the other thorough review of this product. My biggest complaint about this kit is that it does not have enough yarn to complete the project it says you should be able to complete. I was careful with the yarn and used tight stitches, and still did not have enough yarn to do the 4 limbs of the bunny after doing the body, head, and ears. The only alteration I made was to add one row of stitches to each ear, because they looked too short, more like mouse ears; so that only increased my yarn usage by a total of about 24 stitches. I should not have run so completely out of yarn. I had to go try to hunt down a similar color at 2 stores to be able to finish the project.The book itself does have a lot of pictures, but the pictures aren't always showing you what would be most useful to see. They weren't well-chosen, if you ask me. The instructions are pretty good for the most part if you already have a beginner's level ability, but if you're brand new to crochet, you'll probably need to look a few things up on You Tube for clarity, especially how to do the adjustable/"magic" ring. The instructions for that (and it's a very important thing to know for these projects) aren't good at all. My book, the cover is already pulling off its glue on the front and back, after only working on two projects. And, like the other reviewer said, these are not "teeny tiny". I was looking forward to making animals just a couple inches tall, but these do average 5 1/2". I think the smallest is 3 1/2" up to the 10" monkey. Of course, one could make them smaller using thinner yarn and a smaller needle than what the patterns call for.I only paid $2.50 for the kit (unopened) at a thrift store, so overall I'm happy with it and feel like I've gotten my money's worth. But it was irritating to run out of yarn mid-project(if I'd known ahead of time, I could have just used another, bigger skein of yarn). I wouldn't want to pay full price for this, given the issues. Also be aware that to make these projects, as per instructions, you will need not only more yarn and 2 other crochet hook sizes, but plastic safety eyes (you can get an assortment of them really cheap from Ebay, if you're willing to wait for them to be shipped from China) and safety noses in a couple projects--if you want them to look like the pictures show.
