Larry McMurtry's Dead Man's Walk

A very good movie about Agustas and Woodrow. I love all the Lonesome Dove movies

It's A close race between Dead Man's Walk and Comanche Moon as too which is my favorite Prequel.

I love everything that Larry McMurtrey does! If you like westerns, you will love this movie!

Best western author

This movie is the prequel to the Lonesome Dove series. It gives a view of the early days when Captains Call and McCray were Texas Rangers. This movie helps to explain some of the why and how in their relationship and their personal relationships with the women in their lives. Though the actors of Call and McCray did a good job, they had huge shoes to fill after seeing the characters played so well by veteran actors, Tommy Lee Jones and Robert Duvall. If you have not seen Lonesome Dove, it is a must see, but I would advise to watch this movie first and follow the characters chronologically through all of the series.

you will have tears at the end of the movie for these 2 Texas Rangers. I starts as these 2 Texas Rangers started and meet up with Buffalo Hump and then moves on to where they enlist start a trail to New Mexico only to be overthrown by the Mexicans being accused of stealing from them. They end up walking over 500 miles across desert, losing men along the way to exhaustion, Apache Gomez killing off along the way, starvation. Few made it along the Dead Man's Walk and ..... well the ending is a must to see. A super film with a great cast.

As a fan of Lonesome Dove I need to get this movie so I can get the interesting stories to the start of the friendship of Woodrow call and Augusta McRae

Another great western movie. Classics like this are hard to come by and the price was cheap.

I liked it. Anything measured from Lonesome Dove would be tough, but this stands up quite well.
