desertcart.com: Evermore: A High-Stakes and Star-Crossed YA Fantasy of Love, Secrets, and Past Lives (Everless): 9780062653697: Holland, Sara: Books Review: Evermore - I purchased this book from desertcart to read. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Evermore by Sara Holland. I liked Everless and you really must read book 1 in this series, but I loved book 2 Evermore. Jules was taught the legend that the Alchemist stole the Sorceress's heart and they continue to hunt and kill one another over and over trapping the people in a vicious loop where blood trapped in currency is their only way through Jules discovers she is the Alchemist and the Sorceress is her rival Cora. Cora will stop at nothing to take Jules' life and reclaim her heart. Jules must discover the secret of stopping Cora forever by uncovering the ancient story that has bound them in this loop. Through all her adventures Jules learns her heart leads her places even when she pleads for it not to and traps her in a love all of her own. Review: great book! - This duology is great! I read Everless last year, without realizing it was part of a series. Thankfully, Evermore came out without too much delay and I was so excited to read the series again and find out what happens. I was not disappointed. Jules Ember is an excellent protagonist that I enjoyed rooting for. Her attitude about men gets a little ridiculous sounding in Everless, when she seems to put her feelings for Roan above everything else. Of course, I admit, I preferred Liam the whole time anyways. That’s the only reason I’m giving this series 4 stars. The story is unique and easy to follow. These are the books that you read thru 50 pages without realizing it. Everless sounds like a beautiful place to live and I liked seeing the connections between it and the characters. Jules managed to separate Everless and its owners. She loved Everless and always felt that it was her home, no matter who else was there. I can’t say too much about Evermore, because I don’t want to give anything away . . . In fact, I probably shouldn’t say much more anyway, y’all just need to read it! The story is great, the characters are believable and mostly likable, the setting is beautiful, the covers of both books are gorgeous, and I think this duology is completely appropriate for teens. I definitely recommend it to those who like fantasy!

I much preferred Everless, Evermore falls short
This was not anywhere near as good as Everless was. In fact, if you cut out everything I hated about this book, the two books together could have been one single stand-alone novel that was great, instead of two books where one kinda... falls far from the mark. First, I still loved the world, the mythology, and the magic. I loved Jules as a character, even though she made some stupid decisions (she's a teenage girl that just had a lot thrown at her, fine, I'll let you go on this one). BUT 1) That forced romance. UGH. JUST BECAUSE A BOY IS NICE TO A GIRL DOESN'T MEAN THEY NEED TO GET TOGETHER JUST LET THEM BE BUDDIES WHY DO THEY ALWAYS GOTTA HOOK UP WHEN THE WORLD NEEDS SAVING GO TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS FIRST THIS IS WHY YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE 2) Her "journey". BRUH. She is told flat out "DO NOT BE AT THIS PLACE YOU SHALL DIE" so she wanders around all these nearby places that aren't technically "the place" but close enough to where she's a moron. And what does she find at any of these places? A tool to assist her in saving the world? PIECES of a tool? Solutions to a puzzle? A helpful memory? A funny limerick? ANYTHING? No. Nothing she discovers helps her at all. Ergo... her whole journey was pointless. So, if we cut out all of the romance scenes, and the entire pointless, no-lesson-learning journey of hers, we could've wrapped this bad boy up in like, 3-4 more chapters in Everless and had one solid stand-alone fantasy, instead of a great start and a flat-fallen ending.

I couldn't put it down!!
On my son's birthday last year I saw Everless in a book store but I couldn't remember the name of it after that I just had the cover in my mind and it was driving me crazy, then one night I was surfing through books on here and I found it, ordered it and couldn't put it down and then the long - okay it wasn't that long but at the time 6 months felt like forever! - wait for the sequel. It definitely did not disappoint me and lived up to its predecessor. I cannot wait to see what Sara Holland releases next. If you're looking for a compelling page-turner about love, loss and everything in between grab Everless and Evermore. You won't regret it!

A satisfying end to the duology
I'd recommend it for fans of: Ash Princess, and Roar (and my daughter says The Glass Spare but I haven't read it yet). My thoughts: I didn't really expect the turns this sequel took, which was nice, and I felt the end wrapped up the duology quite well, which I appreciated. It was fast-paced and I liked the writing style. And I enjoyed some of the creative ways the magic was used. I would have enjoyed just a bit more time with some of the characters.

I’m
Um YESSSS this book is amazing!! It had popped up on my feed many times before I bought it and I’m so glad I did! I loved the story, love the characters, and loved the world itself! So creative!! I bought Evermore when I was about halfway through this one and devoured it too! This will be a series I’ll read many more times in the future so it’s going on my “favorites” shelf.

I needed this
While Everless was a story of Jules learning who she is, Evermore is her learning her whole story piece by piece. The heartbreaking love story that everyone should read. Because it's more than just her and Liam this is a love story about friendship and learning just what someone can mean to you. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to escape into a world of magic, love, and understanding.

Absolutely devastated that this story had to end. I was racing through the chapters caught on every word no it was tied up so brilliantly. Please dive into the world of Sempera, you won’t regret it.
