These were the answer
I'm re-skinning a 24' enclosed trailer and started the project with the square bits. About 80% of the screws came out fine but some were too stubborn and the square bits stripped them out. I switched to these bits and an impact instead of a drill and haven't stripped one yet. I think the impact helped quite a bit and obviously full engagement with all the points helps. I'm still on the first bit and have about 30% of the screws out and the bit is still in good shape. The finish is worn off but it still fits tight. Quality product.

Great for metal siding on enclosed trailer
Works great for tightening the screws on an enclosed trailer outside walls. The screws that work their way loose during travel must be checked and tightened periodically. There are always a few screws that back out after a thousand miles or so on my trailer. A dab of thread locker on the threads will help.

I have use a #2 Robertson bit on these screws before. It works but not perfect and sometimes strips the screw. These double square bits are a perfect fit and easily removes every screw I attempted. I used them on a 21 year old trailer to remove some aluminum panels. These are the right bits for the job. Highly recommend.

I’m not sure why RV manufacturers use this style of fastener but the bits are a perfect fit. Don’t be like me and try using a star and try to make it work.

Could not find the 8 point bit needed for the trailer sheet metal screws in any of the fastener or trailer stores in town, but these fit perfectly!
