Most other infusers with a chain or hook, I can't use with the lid on. The chain would fall in, and the hook is too big for the lid to fit on. For this one being silicone, you can just fold over the little character under the lid and it pops right up when you remove the lid to grab it out. Hopefully that makes sense.
