( small typo found in 2 books to look out for) - First, I haven’t read all 3 yet, but I read the first, and it was awesome. Just started the 2nd, and I noticed on page 11 a ‘typo’ of sorts that I also saw in the first book and wrote off as a ‘maybe it’s my mistake’. But after seeing it in the 2nd book too, I realized something that I have to call out. I think it’s my OCD that compels me to have a nagging feeling in the back of my head until I “set it right”. But anyways, I’ve noticed in both books that the author specifies something as horizontal, when he really clearly means vertical. Like on page 11 in book two, when referring to the Egyptian Gryphons wings being different looking because they are “horizontal”. And then it says something about how they must fly like a butterfly does. But butterflies fly with their wings vertical. That’s what makes their flying unique, although I think humming birds can do it too. In the first book, I think the same horizontal/vertical mixup happens when describing them going through a sand portal and that it looks like an hour glass. That one confused me for about 5 minutes until I finally decided it must be a typo. But I don’t remember the exact page of that one. I figured I would mention it just in case someone knows the publisher. Not important enough for me to take extra steps though lol. I do love the books so far tho. So please don’t allow something so silly and trivial to stop you from reading this wonderful book. Review: Fantastic! - I have to admit, I was skeptical about deviating from the world of Percy Jackson and Greek mythology with this author. I am glad to have done so. This was a fantastic series. It was shorter by 2 books than many of his series, but it was a smart choice. It wasn't overdone, concluded on a wonderful note, and opened the door to a fascinating world with all kinds of possibilities. It was a wonderful journey.
