Marino's The ICU Book

Marino does it again with this invaluable must-read ICU book for anyone preparing for their exam. His style of writing is engaging and unique. The book is a color copy making it easier to remember stuff....a good buy.

It has just one problem, the quality of the paper is more than good, what makes you impossible to take notes in a pleasent way...

This book is so informative and it’s an easy read. Lots of diagrams to help you understand the information! Only thing that would make this book better would be some practice quizzes at the end of each chapter to help you retain the knowledge!!

私は学生時代は生理学が苦手で国家試験の勉強も"Aという疾患にはBという治療薬を使う"という覚え方でした。 実際にベッドサイドで働くようになると患者毎に基礎疾患などのベースの状態が異なりAだからBという安易な考え方では対応できない局面も多々あり、困惑しました。 このテキストでは生理学から丁寧な解説がついており(しかも取っつきやすい)、各疾患や病態へのアプローチが明確になります。 例えば大動脈解離の項では 大動脈解離の診療ガイドラインでは"降圧療法の第一選択はβ遮断薬である"としか記載されていません この本では、血管拡張作用を持つ降圧薬では後負荷が下がることにより心拍出量が増加し、大動脈内の流量が増加することによりさらに解離が進む恐れがある。そのためβ遮断薬により心拍出量を抑えることが大事である とあります 単なるハウツー本ではなくこういった生理学に基づいたテキストで勉強することで複雑な病態を紐解くことができ患者のアウトカムも良くなると思います。
