The battery slot and on/off switches can’t be felt while using. They came with 3 packages of extra batteries (9 total), but also there are 3 batteries pre-loaded in each hook. I know I will only use a few of the hook sizes so there are lots of batteries for the future.I am legally blind and have had to limit my stitches to moss and post, so I’m looking forward to going back to more complex ones with these lighted hooks.The light isn’t evenly diffuse, it actually makes the hook end the brightest, which is perfect for aiming. It might annoy some but works great for me.The case is very nice looking and sturdy.
