No, there are no magnets in the bottom but it is a very pretty shower curtain design.

I notice people mentioned it needed a liner as it was a bit shear, does it need one to keep floor dry? want one to keep floor dry that drys quickly

I use a liner because I want the liner in the tub and the curtain hanging outside of the tub to make sure the floor stays dry. Using a liner had nothing to do with the sheerness of the product.

What color bath rug would you recommend?

I have a gray bath rug as it matches the bathroom walls. Any of the colors in the flowers would also be nice.
