Ka-Bar SPORK

Nice compact KFS. The fact it comes apart meant it would fit into my mess tins easily. When assembled it was a good length for digging into ration packs. Although it is made from plastic, the knife is very sharp and strong. I did not find a use for a knife on this trip but I am sure it will be a good back up. Is it better than plastic cutlery which is a fraction of the price? Well, yes, it will last a long time, not sure its worth the asking price though, so four stars for its value.

Very handy, great quality, just a little over priced in my opinion. But if you have a need for this item, this is the one to go for.

The price was the worst thing about this spork, although that has come down from £17 since I bought mine, besides the design. There is an "air" hole just above the spoon/fork head which allows air to escape when the handle/blade is pushed into the lower section. This hole allows liquids and small particles of food to enter the body of the spork. Needs cleaned thoroughly. But it does conceal a very dangerous plastic blade. The concealed blade and the fact that it is virtually undetectable is the best thing about this piece of kit.

Great for the bug out bag, or just for camping. Lightweight, seemingly durable but will see how it holds up to continued field testing.

Disappointing. Way, way overpriced - but if you are a dedicated Ka-Bar fan you will probably buy this anyway. If you do buy it, you will find it reasonably sturdy, practical and useful. Just a shame it is just so expensive!

Because this product splits in two it is a little rattly when used as a spork but it does the job perfectly well. Glad I purchased it

It does the job. But as it’s a ka bar product I’d expect it to be a little chunkier. But I’m pleased with it.

Spork is great for more solid things like snags or steak, even stew, but not so great on ramen noodles, tines aren't that long so noodles keep falling off unless you shovel them in like there's no tomorrow. Knife has sharp serrations making slicing up steak easy. If your saving weight and space this is perfect. If traveling on a plane pack in check in luggage because of knife.

樹脂自体はしっかりしていて、ナイフで肉を切るには問題ありません。 スプーンは500円玉程度の大きさでスープは掬ったりできません。 また、赤ちゃん用のスプーンほど小さいのでカレーとかを食べると 匙の中を舐りきれないことになります。 軽くて丈夫なので、割り切って使うのが良いと思います。 大人が使っている情景は少しかわいいかも。

It seems that everyone makes a spork nowadays. Plastic, titanium, zinc, aluminum, stainless. You name it, they've made it into a spork. Sporks have been around since the late 19th century. Now, even Ka-bar makes a spork. Being a Former Marine and Ka-Bar fanboy I just had to have one or two. You never know when you need to hunker down and kill off a can of spam while hunting zombies to replenish your internal engine. This spork is made from Grilamid FWA, a high-strength, technical polymer. It's food safe and UV resistant. Apparently the plastic is made by the same company that makes Grivory plastics, which is common among knife manufacturers, especially Ka-Bar. The spork is lightweight with a proper fit & finish. I detected no burrs or excessive mold marks. Removing the knife was easy provided you grab the spork towards both ends and not the middle. There was no wobble or excessive movement when the spork was in it's closed position. The knife does a decent job cutting beef, chicken, and spam. It's a bit short to get any leverage when making long cuts in a steak as I had to place my index finger along the top spine of the blade. The blade is too narrow for spreading jams or butters, the spork end worked better. The spork, itself, works adequately enough. The tines are short and somewhat dull. I found that sharpening them up with a bit of emery board worked wonders. The bowl of the spoon is small for liquid soups, but works well on stews and beans. Traditionally, sporks have never worked well on soups. Drinking soup from a can, canteen, or cup/mug always works the best. Clean-up is easy. The plastic should handle temps up to 60°C. Safe for dishwashers, but the spork is light and might fly around. All-in-all, this is a decent spork. It's light and packs well. The plastic is very tough and should hold up better than a metal spork. Although the knife works, it's best to use your EDC knife along side the spork. While there are many choices for sporks, this is one of the better ones. It's all-inclusive in one small, lightweight package. Using the knife against zombies is just and added bonus.
