Pero instant beverage
As a coffee substitute it is delicious and keeps fresh. If you have to give up coffee, this is a good substitute, and gives you that cup of morning” brew” that you can enjoy sipping with your friends

Great coffee alternative
I can’t have caffeine or acid that comes with coffee. Sad life for me. But this offers a smooth and coffee-like experience so I don’t feel deprived. I’ve been drinking this for at least 8 years. I pouted and was angry about not having coffee but this calms my spirit, lol. Try it.

Warm, Comforting, and Caffeine-Free
I was introduced to orzo beverage while living in Italy and have been searching for a similar option in the U.S.—Pero hit the mark perfectly. It’s a warm, natural beverage with no caffeine or questionable additives, and it’s become a comforting staple in our home. Even the kids enjoy a cup on a snowy day. Smooth, rich, and easy to prepare—highly recommend

A really wonderful coffee flavor substitute - better then coffee.
I am adding my comments since paragraph below. I still love this. The first time I tasted it I thought, 'This tastes better then coffee' and I like my coffee, not weak. After heart problems a year ago I tried this from personal advise from another heart patient and he said I should try 'pero'. I am still using it and enjoying it very much. I look forward to having it for breakfast and sometimes with other meals during the day. I don't understand why some people think it has no taste when it does. It also dissolves nicely in hot, not boiling water. I guess I have good taste buds because I think this product has a wonderful taste that I enjoy better then my, formerly, Folgers instant coffee. I also use to drink regular Folgers perked coffee. I can't have coffee at all, so I do enjoy having pero. I can't have decaffeinated drinks anymore and this is a wonderful coffee replacement. My first cup I was very pleased with its taste. I actually liked and like it better then coffee. It has a wonderful flavor. I add a little more per cup then called for and it is a pleasure to drink. Pour in very hot water, not boiling water and it has a better taste.

tasty, but pricey
mixes easily with hot water. I find a level teaspoon is plenty of flavor(so the package has lots of servings

A decent hot beverage.
At some point I decided that I was drinking a little too much coffee (about 2-3 pots a day) and decided to find an alternative for the afternoons. So I decided to try some of these coffee alternatives. I have tried several and found Cafix, Pero, and Roma) to be decent substitutes. Overall, it reminds me a bit of the flavor of instant coffee, but I actually think it is a little better if you mix it a tad more concentrated then they say. Basically, I use 3 generous teaspoons in my travel mug. That amounts to about 1.5 teaspoons per coffee cup. So in case this helps others decide on a beverage to choose, here is a breakdown of one's I've tried: -Cafix - decent substitute. Overall, it reminds me a bit of the flavor of instant coffee. I like mixing it a little stronger than recommended. -Pero - pretty well known and taste was very similar to this Cafix. Honestly I can't really tell the difference. -Roma - again pretty well known and taste was very similar to this Cafix. Honestly I can't really tell the difference. -Barlee - This was similar to the above, but definitely had a bit of a tanginess to it. almost reminiscent of instant iced tea. -Teeccino (variety pack) - this looked the most like coffee. It also tasted a lot like cardboard to me. The flavored ones were just flavored cardboard. Really not a good substitute, in my opinion. I hope this helps some other folks decide on a substitute as well.

Almost just like coffee!
I've tried Roma, Postum, and now Pero. Peroxide is the most like coffee.

Pero vs Coffee
As a drnk, Pero has the bitter taste of coffee without the caffeine. Pero adds a deeper richness in baking when added to chocolate cake recipes.
