Probably, however, these are a lot less messy than hand rolling duct tape and they pack effortlessly in my packs. I have some tiny zip lock bags for pills that they fit just perfect inside of and they stash away in my climbing pack, hiking pack, avalanche pack, and tool bags. Perfect for any place that you want to stash some duct tape and the bright orange color does a great job of standing out. I could probably have cut off an old pen tube to length and wrapped some tape of a full roll onto it and done the same but this does the job perfectly and was very convienient and if it does melt or fail my wife won't yell at me for a hair brained idea.
