I took a chance, and with the help of a few YT instructional vids, I was able to change this out. I am so happy with this install! The directions it came with were ok, but the videos found online helped more. Make sure you have all the right tools. You'll need: Trim removal tool Flathead screwdriver Adjustable wrench Sockets 10mm & 8mm Torx bits: T30, T20 Allen head: 5/32 Adaptors may be needed for the sockets Removing the old air intake was one of the main challenges I encountered. I had virtually no issues with installing the new one. Challenges were (I have a Jeep JL): Removing grill without scratching it on the aftermarket front bumper (I only had about a 3/4 of an inch gap to work with). Removing air intake air temperature sensor while being careful with it. Overall, I am very happy with this. It also makes my Jeep sound way better and a little meaner. Would have been quicker but I was in and out of the house grabbing tools and coffee. The good... 1. Install is easy if you have the right tools and read the instructions, Youtube videos exist so if you need more direction just google Jeep Gladiator K&N Cold Air Intake Install. 2. The motor growls when you hit the throttle! I do not want the full sound of an aftermarket exhaust but the stock intake makes no sound at all. If you are looking for a nice growl without being obnoxious (IMO) this is the way to go. 3. Throttle response is noticeable better but not sure how much of that is associated with the sound, it could be a Jedi mind trick. 4. This is handmade in the USA!1 (according to the box) The bad... 1. Other brands do not require you take the grill off and remove the air inlet tube behind. This is not a big deal if you are familiar with removing the grill but it still adds time to the overall install. 2. I have had other vehicles with CAIs and sometimes at low rpms they can feel sluggish. Overall they add HP and I believe they are worth it but it is something to keep in mind.
