First thing you need to do is get a USB audio interface that provides phantom power, or a phantom power injector. This a entry level studio mic product that needs that power source to function properly. There are Inexpensive USB mixer/audio interfaces that perform well and will even allow you to feed in another audio source with the mic. This is GREAT for those wishing to record or stream! I've performed blind tests with mic costing triple this set's price with listeners unable to determine which was the $150 and which was $30. Do yourself a favor and watch the attached video to hear the sound for yourself. My wife was standing behind me and about a foot away from the mic. Foam screen is installed at the time. I've purchased a 2nd one too. The stand, and accessories are just gravy on top of an already great deal.

My teens have been asking for a condenser microphone for a few months now. My son wanted one for gaming, and my daughter wanted one for singing and practicing for speech and podcasting. I truly had no idea how this all worked, but now that we have the mic assembled and working I can see why they wanted one. This mic is really easy to set up. The filtering of outside noise is phenomenal. The voice recording records true voice accurately and clearly. My daughter does theater and speech and debate and I have listened to many bad mics over the years. This is really great. I took a picture without the pop filter or foam cap so you can see the really great gold color. This is exactly what we were hoping for, dare I say it even exceeds my expectations for the price.

January 15, 2020, Purchase - This is an excellent starter pack if you don’t need to obsessed about the “noise floor”. I tried to use it for producing an audiobook and the microphone was just not capable of the sound quality I needed. I needed to pump the gain so high to improve the s/n and this introduces hiss. The pop filter and shock mount are excellent. The swingarm is adequate but I find I need to tighten the knobs to prevent it from drooping. I never used the existing XLR to 1/8 plug, nor the USB adapter. I bought a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen and Amazon Basics XLR-XLR cable. January 26, 2020, Update - I replaced the microphone with an MXL 770 and that has been sufficient. and permitted me to record four Audiobooks and pass ACX QA with very minimal mastering. August 19, 2020, Update - The table clamp has bent with the constant tightening to the point that the shaft is now out of alignment and needs to be replaced. The swingarm tightening nuts are still functioning but loosen up with each time the microphone is repositioned. The pop filter still working great for me. Conclusion: For the price, this is a fantastic starter set. If you are performing audiobook narration this is still a good place to start, but you will need to focus on upgrading most of the components within a year.

I just got that microphone yesterday and I'm trying to install it and the headphone with the sound card works but the microphone does not it looks like it's too deep inside the holes for the USB sound card and it's not working for me I wish they could send me a replacement for the sound card so I do not have to ask for a return or replacement

I just opened this box a few months ago. I forgot I had it. I connected the microphone it didn't work. I took it over to a friend to look at. He uses them a lot. He connected it to his system, but nothing happened. Absolutely no sound. This is frustrating. How does a brand-new piece of equipment, sitting in a box that was never moved, not work? Frustrating. This is an excellent product, and superb value for money. The mic comes neatly packaged with everything you could possibly need for your first vocals/commentary booth. The build-quality is of a very high standard, and the assembly of the various components is quick, straightforward, and stress-free. Once set-up, it looks and feels professional, and is frankly far more impressive than something so reasonably priced has any right to be! But of course, all that would be meaningless if it sounded like crap. Luckily it doesn't. It sounds fantastic! The pop-filter works a treat, which is a good thing because this mic does prefer a close-up vocal without too much distance between mic and person. If you get too far away (and I'm talking merely a distance of two feet), you need to push the level considerably, which in turn increases background ambience. But up-close it has a lovely rich sound. For such a small financial outlay you really can't go wrong with this product. Happy customer here. Highly recommended.
