Engineering W8less Professional 2000 Watt Dryer, 7 Speed Settings, Lightweight.

I've only ever used drug store dryers (i.e. Revlon), so this was quite a change. The picture makes this dryer look light blue, but when I received it, it was white. I did a lot of research before I decided on this particular model. My hairdresser recommended either Rusk or Elchim, but after reading reviews, I decided on Rusk W8less due to the fact that it is lighter in weight. If you have nerve compression issues, or if you just have a hard time holding hair dryers for a long period of time, then this is a blow dryer that definitely feels lighter in weight than my old Revlon dryer felt. I had never known that the quality of my hair could also feel much sleeker and less frizzy just by investing a little more money in to a good blow dryer. After I would use my old Revlon, my hair would be poofy and frizzy, but this is not so with Rusk W8less. I was so surprised to feel my hair after my very first use. Also, as with any hair tool, it did take a few tries to get used to how to use this dryer compared to the much cheaper dryers at drug stores. It blows harder and the heat is just right even on 'hot.' The top button is a cold shot button, the middle button is the heat level (warm, cool, hot), and the bottom is for level of drying you want (low, off, high). Pretty simple. It came with only one concentrator (the ad said two when I bought it, but it is only one). The cord is longer than it is with cheaper dryers. Price-wise this was definitely cheaper than some other high end dryers, but more expensive than a drug store dryer. Overall, it is definitely worth the bit extra and I will definitely continue to buy Rusk products in the future. A YEAR LATER: It's been over a year later and this dryer is still going strong! The drying time is shorter than other hair dryers, and the dryer still works just as well as it did when I first purchased it. I LOVE this blow dryer! Will definitely be buying another one whenever this one finally dies.

I bought this to replace my last hairdryer of the same model. That one lasted for years! I can’t remember how long I had it. I have a lot of hair and this hairdryer dries it quicker than others I’ve tried. It’s lightweight and not to loud. I highly recommend.

Amazing blow dryer! Light weight but powerful. Leaves my hair shiny and bouncy. I am using the same products and brushes that I used before trying out the Rusk W8less blow dryer and the difference in how much better my hair looks is incredible. My hair is so much easier to style with this blow dryer in about half the time. It also does a great job of refreshing my style between washes. I definitely recommend this product.

I never thought I would pay so much for a hair dryer. Typically I would expect to pay $30 or less. I am almost 40 years old and have very thin, frizzy hair that almost wants to have some wave. I color my hair and typically let it air dry because blow dryers that I have used in the past tend to make my hair dry, brittle and frizzy. I have decided to grow some length to my hair and get a new haircut so I have been motivated to put in more effort to get the most from my current style and color. I read many reviews and watched many youtube videos for tips and instructions. I have used this tool three times-once on my daughter who has thick, virgin slightly wavy hair, and on myself with a round brush. I can not believe the difference this styling tool has made! This eliminates frizz and really gives hair body if done properly. My blowout lasts for days. The heat settings (although there are just 2) are perfect. Cool enough to avoid burn or discomfort and yet warm enough to be effective. Only 2 speed settings as well but I have also found this to be more than adequate. When choosing a tool I was torn between this and the highly rated babyliss nano dryer. The Babyliss has more settings but this has a much lighter weight. With very long hair and the time it takes for a newbie like me to style, the feather light build makes a huge difference. The only complaint I could find on the dryer was the fit of the concentrator tip. Some have mentioned that it tends to fall off. This has has happened to me a couple of times, although only after I hit the concentrator on my scalp or bumped the dryer on the wall by my vanity. It is an annoyance that the attachment is not more secure but I have learned to be more careful and have had no further problems. Highly recommended.

My Babyliss hair blower was bought on the recommendation of my hairdresser. It lasted for many years. Trying to buy another (with my list of 'must-haves') proved to be difficult. Searching for one that's fairly quiet, lightweight, ceramic, tourmaline, budget-friendly, etc., proved to be a challenge. After reading reviews, going to beauty supplies and big box stores, I decided that the Rusk W8less hair blower met my needs. At 2000 watts, this is a powerful tool. I have thin, baby fine hair and don't need to use it at its highest setting. If your hair is thick, this should be more than sufficient for your needs. March 26, 2015 Update: My hair blower is still working perfectly and I will definitely continue recommending the Rusk W8less Professional Lightweight Ceramic hair blower! One of the features I looked for was the ability to clean the screen filter. Over time, hair products and dust can cause the filter to clog, overheat the motor, and prematurely destroy the unit. The Rusk filter can be removed and cleaned. It has multiple settings, including a cool one. An important feature I looked for was a nozzle concentrator. This one allows a thin stream of air to focus on a small section of hair. That means that you won't be drying/frizzing the surrounding hair as you dry that one section. Should it matter to you, please note that, the nozzle is a dark color, while the dryer itself is more of a light ivory tone. The Rusk is a bit lighter in weight than my old Babyliss. Its weight compares favorably to others on the market today. As a unit with a decent capacity motor and durable housing, the Rusk impressed me. You can buy hair blowers anywhere from around $20 to more than $200. Decide what features you must have and determine your budget. If yours must be ceramic, tourmaline, lightweight, have high wattage, multiple settings, a removable filter, good reviews, and be a great value, then the Rusk W8less is the one to get. JANUARY 2017: It's been almost two years since I last updated this product review. I can happily state that my RUSK W8Less is still doing an excellent job and I have absolutely no complaints about it.

Lightweight and dried my hair quickly without causing frizz

I needed a new hair dryer and did not want anymore of the regular store brand. Since I was having problems with those. So I looked on Amazon and searched. I noticed the Rusk brand. I researched the brand and read the reviews. So I thought I would give the Rusk brand a try. When my packaged arrived, I unpacked it and plugged it in. I did noticed the air flow was stronger on the low setting. It has a stronger air flow on both settings. Guess that's what a 2000 watt dryer does. This is my first 2000 watt, been using 1875 watts. I did noticed the weight of the product that it does feel light when holding but have some heaviness in certain areas. It didn't feel like it would hurt my wrist when I move it around when blow drying. It's not tiresome. The switches are in the same place as my old hair drier. The Rusk hair dryer switch is click back and forth, as my old one was a slide up and down. I noticed on the Rusk dryer the switch goes warm cool hot. I guess that is easier to do for this kind of switching fast since this dryer is a professional one. I washed my hair and used the hair dryer. I noticed my hair looked more bouncy and healthier. Then went to sleep, woke up and my hair still has a bounciness and looked good. So the dryer did have a good effect on my hair. Did not looked overly dried out or frizzy. Did feel like I used few mins less than usual. I did not have to run a flat iron in my hair. The concentrator nozzle stayed on for me after moving the dryer around back and forth over my hair. I wonder if people are not putting it on tight enough. (UPDATE 3/13/17 - I noticed when using the concentrator nozzle, it will not stay on when the hair dryer is working IF ONE MESSES WITH THE NOZZLE. In order for the concentrator nozzle to stay on, the dryer has to be off when placing the concentrator nozzle on the hair dryer. When the hair drier is on the nozzle stays on. If you take it off or move the concentrator nozzle around to a different angle when the hair dryer is on, it will blow off. The hair dryer has a higher force blow than some hair driers. - maybe this will give some insight about the nozzle, why when I used it it stayed on and for others it would come off and be a headache for them. Also I am not using the concentrator nozzle since I don't really need to use it, My hair don't require it, regular blow drying is enough.) I noticed over the years my hair has been looking so flat, and was not getting the bounce like it did before. My hair and skin has changed in the last few years. My old hair dryer was 14 years old, so it could have been that it was losing the effectiveness and just causing problems. Honestly I was glad my dryer when out. I been wanting a new hair dryer. My old dryer did not have the ion technology, it could have. I got my dryer before I even heard about ions in hair dryers. I feel like my hair has been revived. So maybe it was my old hair dryer making my hair not look as good as it should. I did see a big difference on how my hair was blow dried. If I do run into any problems, I will be giving updates. Hopefully I don't run into any problems.

This is advertised to be lightweight. The product description says it's 16 ounces. It is not. I weighed it and it is 1.6 pounds just like many other hair dryers. It blows powerfully at 2000 watts for quicker drying. But it is definitely not worth the high price. I'm returning it.
