Here are two figures— bearing in mind that the bed is set up on wall-to-wall carpeting with about .25” ‘give’ at the bottom. From the floor to the bottom of the frame is 6”, if you’re thinking about sliding a storage drawer underneath the bed. But for figuring the ‘drop’ for a bed skirt — i.e. from just underneath the mattress down to the floor — i give it 7 inches. It’s surprisingly sturdy for the price, and the fact that it’s held together by gravity and friction/pressure. **Q: is this bed sturdy?** A: I have a king-size mattress with two box springs plus the added weight of myself 200lbs. My son that's 6'2" and is over 250lbs jumped on the bed and it did not break. **Q: can I attach a headboard to this frame?** A: Yes, depending on the headboard. My wife and I bought a new headboard and the holes did not line up. It wasn’t that big a deal, we just had to drill new ones.
