Oxford Paperback Dictionary & Thesaurus

This Oxford Dictionary & Thesaurus is a solid, practical reference for quick lookups. It’s lightweight and easy to carry, making it great for students or anyone who needs a reliable all-in-one option. The definitions are clear and modern, and the thesaurus section is really handy for writing or editing. That said, it’s not as comprehensive as the full-sized Oxford editions, so advanced users might find it a bit limited. Still, for the price, it’s an excellent desk companion that delivers exactly what most people need for everyday use.

Haven't really put this thing to work yet, but I'm quite impressed with the definitions available. This dictionary not only serves as a literal reference, but also has a phone app you can download that provides you with an electronic version of the dictionary. The only downside is that it contains ads...

Great buy at a great cost

I keep it close while reading and have looked to this lovely book over and over. Perfect size. Every word I've looked for was included. Great purchase. Will probably purchase a 2nd one to have at my other home.

The dictionary part only covers words in daily life(almost the identical text as in Oxford Mini Dictionary). The in-text thesaurus is pretty good. Another thing to notice is that this dictionary and thesaurus, along with other printed versions of Oxford Dictionaries, has not been updated for a while. When I looked up the word “drone”, the sense of “unmanned aircraft” was not there, let alone other newer words. If you are thinking of finding a more comprehensive dictionary and thesaurus, I suggest that you buy them separately, because even the larger volume Oxford American Dictionary and Thesaurus has much fewer words than the New Oxford American Dictionary, and doesn’t even have the word coronavirus, which is in NOXAD(2011). However, if you are an ESL/EFL reader, I would indeed recommend this to you. It is light in weight and small in size, and covers most of the words one will encounter in general texts, especially when you are reading novels. It also serves as a good example of the set of the most common vocabularies that an educated native speaker would know.

The book had torn pages and the book looked nasty and worn out

This dictionary is a great dictioinary its everything i hope it would be. This book is a great source of study. I am engaged in an online degree program an obtaining this dictionary helps me through out my studies. The contents of the book is very clear and understandable.

Love a good dictionary. And let's face it. Oxford is the best!
