I'm always warm and he's always cold. We both love them. For me, the wearable temperature range is 50F and below. Below 30F, or high winds (20 mph+), a hooded shell helps to keep warm. These would be perfect with a hood and front hand warmer pocket. I just ordered 2 more in different colors and a balaclava to compensate for the lack of hood. I'm 5'6" with 44 inch waist and the XXL is good fit (loose but not too big). My brother is 6' with a 40 inch waist and the fit is the same for him. There's a tiny white tag stitched on the inside collar and is scratchy AF.
