Quality in a non-flashy package
Feels a bit cheap on the mid to top portion, which is made of plastic. Nothing deal breaking. The rest of the pen feels amazing and stays secure in your grip. The pointy tip looks fragile and is very exposed; protecting it is a must. Sadly, after months of using it, I finally managed to drop it. It landed on the tip with about an 60 degree angle from a 0,5 meter fall. Surprisingly no visible damage and so far nothing seems different under use too. The clip feels sturdy. Got a lot of graphite with the unit, and are not phrone to breaking at all. You have to do it intentionally. The weight is towards the tip, which makes it easy to control. A bit more weight on the back could have made for a more 'smooth' writing experience.

Amazing Mechanical Pencil
Overall this mechanical pencil is very good as it is heavy which makes it easier to control, unlike other light mechanical pencils. Therefore I would recommend this pen to any customer(especially artists) that need a good and trustworthy mechanical pencil for art and sketches.

Outstanding
Just received the pencil, and it's extraordinary. The comfort, the weight, the look - very impressive indeed. Will update as things progress, but right now 10/10.

When I was around 10 years old my dad, who was an architect, gave me this mechanical pencil in 0.7mm size. The pencil got me through elementary school, high school, undergraduate, and graduate degrees and 25+ years later I am surprised that I still have this pencil to this day and have not lost it. The brand and model labeling rubbed off early on and I could never find what maker/model this pencil is. Throughout all these years I have tried numerous other pencils, some of which were quite expensive like some from rOtring. Although some are really nice, I kept going back to this Pentel that I received from my dad, due to comfort, build, and style. I always wished I could order more of these but could never find out who made them or if they were still made. One day browsing youtube, I saw a guy reviewing the Pentel Graph 1000 for Pro and I was like, holy crap, that's the exact mechanical pencil that I love. After doing some more research, it was an exact match to the one that my dad gave me, so luckily Amazon carried some and ordered a few in. Comparing the new models to my old one that dated 25+ years ago, they are nearly identical (only differences I could see is the sheen of black is now a bit more matte). After close inspection of my original and the new one, I can say that the quality and feel are exactly the same. I was so happy I found out that Pentel still makes these so many years later and I was able to get a new set. Pros: - 4mm tip. - Construction is solid with brass front cap, metal/rubber grip, really solid plastic body, metal/brass mechanism. - Weight is quite light and pencil is perfectly balanced and very comfortable. - Durability: well I have had my original for 25+ years and although it is beat up and I have lost the clip and the top cap, it still works. Probably has taken 100's of drops throughout all these years and never had issues. Cons: - Absolutely none. Like I said above, I have tried a vast variety of other mechanical pencils out there, including some expensive ones, and I find the Pentel Graph 1000 to be the best out of all of them.

After my last beloved .3mm pencil broke after years of use I finally decided to try two new mechanical pencils so I ordered this one and the Japanese UNI Kurutoga. I'm quite happy with both purchases. Each one has a different feel to it. The GRAPH 1000 is about the same thickness as a regular pencil, it's body is a very solid feeling plastic, the pencil itself feels very sturdy and heavy in the hand. Being someone with metal allergies I like the plastic body a lot. It has a clip on the end of the pencil right before the eraser cap so you can clip it to your shirt or other thin objects. The eraser cap has a small window that can be rotated to display what kind of led you have currently in the pencil HB, B, 4H, 3H, 2H, and H.The grip, is made up of small pads that seem to be silicone or something like it. They give it enough texture around the tip that it keeps the pencil from feeling slippery in your fingers but aren't enough of a cushion to keep your hand from getting sore after a lot of concentrated use as with any writing utensil that lacks a cushioned grip. This pencil feels great in hand and has a nice weight to it. The .3mm gives wonderfully fine lines that are excellent for drawing or writing small fine characters. I would definitely remind this mechanical pencil. If and when it breaks I will be buying this same one to replace it.
