How is such great quality so inexpensive? Very impressed!
I've got 30 years of doing videography, running a TV station, teaching production at LSU, etc. I was hesitant to upgrade to one of these inexpensive wireless mics systems, but I have a situation where going wireless would save me some production time. I took a chance, figured I could return it if the sound sucked. But having done two productions with the SmallRig S70-C2 I'm blown away. The sound quality is really fantastic. Easy to set up and use. Plus unlike others of this king, the mic is small and easy to go unseen. Noise Cancelation is really good, I have found the medium setting to be best, along with the "Normal" or "Full" EQ setting. I will be using this wireless mic kit mostly with iPhones and the BMD camera app. This is one of the best purchases I've ever made. Love SmallRig!

Amazing mics!
Great sounding mics. Very versatile with both traditional cameras and mobile devices. I used it with Canon DSLR's. BlackMagic Cinema Cameras, and my iPhone and Muse Xtra. Solid build quality. Bateeries last forever. Professional audio at an incredible price.

The quality is amazing! Sound is very clean For the price it's quite a steal. It's also super incognito because of the size and weight so very versatile

Good size and sound - but a little unreliable
So much potential...I can live with lack of 32bit float, but I have had several instances when the mics have weird artifacting/distortion due to it needing to reconnect with the receiver. Within 2 months of owning it, the receiver showe clip snapped off. I wasn't even being hasty or rough with it. Seems pretty brittle compared to dji's or rode's shoe clip. One star because admittedly I'm frustrated about being past the return window and I was hoping to rely on this for my work projects. Hope they can fix the issues for v2

Perfect for Creative work.
These are just perfect for my creative work. High-quality build, compact, battery lasts a long time, and the noise-cancelling settings work fantastic for video interviews.

Almost Perfect – Just Two Things Keep It from Being 5 Stars
As a full-time wedding photographer and videographer, I’ve used many wireless microphone systems over the years, and I honestly think SmallRig created one of the smartest designs on the market. In fact, we own two complete S70 systems—one black and one white—and we’re seriously considering buying a third. The biggest strength of this microphone is its size. Brides, grooms, and officiants love it because it’s so small and discreet. It’s incredibly easy to hide, quick to attach, and comfortable to wear. The included colored covers are a brilliant idea because they help the microphone blend into different clothing. Whoever came up with that deserves credit. The audio quality is good. Is it comparable to a professional Sennheiser system? No—but it shouldn’t be expected to be. It also doesn’t cost anywhere near as much. For its price, it delivers very good performance. Now, here’s why I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5. SmallRig, please listen to wedding filmmakers. The transmitters can lose their connection if they remain separated from the receiver before the ceremony begins. This has happened to us multiple times. A typical wedding scenario is this: the officiant and groom are already outside, while the bride is still inside getting ready. My camera is already positioned at the ceremony location, but because the transmitter and receiver are separated for a while, the connection is lost. I’ve had moments where the bride was about to walk down the aisle and I had to run back to reconnect the microphone before the ceremony started. For wedding professionals, that’s a serious issue. Please consider a firmware update that allows the transmitter to stay awake and connected for at least 30 minutes once it’s powered on, even if the receiver temporarily loses connection. If I intentionally turn the microphone on, I don’t want it disconnecting just because the ceremony is running late. My second suggestion is much simpler. The tiny gray furry windscreen (“deadcat”) doesn’t really make sense. The microphone is beautifully designed to disappear on clothing, but the gray windscreen immediately attracts attention. Offering black, white, and gray windscreens would make a huge difference, especially for wedding work. Despite these issues, this is still our favorite wireless microphone system because it’s so small, practical, and fast to use. If SmallRig fixes the connection behavior and offers better windscreen color options, I’ll happily come back and change this review to 5 stars. I hope other wedding filmmakers share their experiences as well. If you’ve found a solution—or if SmallRig releases a firmware update—I would genuinely love to hear about it

Clear and crisp sound!
I bought this to add to my video setup because it seemed so easy! It did not disappoint, the clip on mic can be so easily hidden. Definitely better than the other brand I have that is a bit big and bulky! The sound quality was clear and crisp. The biggest issue to watch out for is making sure it stays engaged/connected if your camera goes to sleep on a break from shooting. It takes a second to "wake up". Great little mic set!

Absolutely insane value - definitely consider if you’re a mobile filmmaker!
Smallrig are making some incredibly high quality products these last couple of years and have gone from a camera cage maker to a one stop shop for the majority of your filmography needs. Just bring a camera! While the small and mobile microphone market is getting very crowded and most brands have multiple generations of development behind them, Smallrig seems to have picked their niche and the iteration shows with this set, which I have to say has impressed me at every level, and I’m a dyed in the wool fan of the Australian mic company with the gold dot for a logo, so it takes a lot to get me to say I prefer these to my Wireless Go sets! Firstly, the box is really, really handy. I know this isn’t the first of its kind but the fact it contains both receiver options as well as two mics is just awesome. The only downside which I find slightly baffling is that you can’t store the 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable inside the box along with the rest of the set, so the camera receiver is useless unless this is brought separately. Having said that I have been testing the mobile receiver with various phones and cameras and it hasn’t missed a beat yet! My absolutely favourite feature is that the Osmo Pocket 3 works with this mobile receiver perfectly, in fact it even works via a third party MagSafe adapter with usb passthrough (see photos) which makes this set extremely valuable for me as I can use it with both my Pocket 3 or 17 Pro Max, depending on which one i want to use. I have tested the camera receiver with my Canon r5 and r6 and it has worked very well, although I did need to put it to -5 gain as it was picking up a little bit of background noise and I prefer less gain to noise cancellation. The sound profile from these mics is surprisingly good and you get a decent bass response to voices depending on placement of the mics. In audio editing software it cleans up very nicely and while it isn’t going to impress any audio engineers, it’s orders of magnitude better than using the mics built into your device. Being so small you can clip them to the collar of a t-shirt or the brim of a cap. It would be neat if there was a magnetic way to attach them to clothing somewhere other than the edge, but with button up shirts this is not a problem and with t-shirts, the collar works great. The included wind-socks are also of a really nice quality and while I’m yet to test the sound quality though them, I haven’t actually found I need them just yet even when using the mics in a slight wind. It’s slightly annoying that they cannot fit inside the charging case either but this is less crucial than the 3.5mm cable fitting in. The ability to record a safety track has saved my skin multiple times so it’s very cool this is a feature here too for such a low price. Obviously you can’t expect 32 bit at this price however competitors at this price point aren’t offering it either, and being old school I’d rather get it right in mic (or with the safety track!) rather than relying on fancy raw audio and larger mics. All in all I’ve been sincerely impressed with this set and I think my Rodes were just retired. The fact I can just bring the charging box and the cable and have a full audio solution ready to go is still kinda mind blowing. Great stuff Smallrig.

Best lav ever made
After 15 years using lavs I can confidently say this is the best one to ever hit the market as of writing. It is top tier. At an unbeatable price for the build quality. Everything is thoughtfully made, strong, and easy to setup. Smallrig outdid themselves here. Well done.
