Great ice cream!
This product is amazing. I purchased it for my husband for his birthday. We have made gelato, ice cream, and sorbet. All of them were delicious and so easy to make. My husband makes ice cream 2-3 times a week. He loves his new gift and so do I. I can't wait to try and make the yogurt! I would highly recommend this machine for its easy of use, dependability, durability and ease of cleaning up!

Very easy to use...works incredibly well!! Delicious Ice-Cream....FAST!
So far...it's AWESOME. I have been shopping (and wanting) an ice-cream maker for over a year now and finally setttled on the Whynter Automatic 2.1 qt unit because I wanted something with a built-in compressor for the easiest process. I've only had it for less than a week and, so far, I have made two flawless batches of gelato. The first batch was dark chocolate gelato (with pieces of dark chocolate), and the second batch was pumpkin pie gelato (with pieces of buttery/cinnamon graham cracker crust throughout). Once it was unboxed, it was ready to use - after thoroughly cleaning of course. It has a relatively small footprint on my counter, which is nice since my kitchen is super-small. The machine is pretty quiet so far, definitely not loud or annoying. I found some great gelato recipes online (Recipes from Italy) despite the maker coming with a recipe booklet, and followed the instructions provided. Once I added all the ingredients, I followed the simple two steps, turn on the machine and set it to making ice-cream. It's that easy! Both batches of gelato were done in a relatively quick period of time, less than 40 minutes and it was ready to eat. The gelato is super smooth and delicious, probably some of the best gelato I've had, including what I ate when touring Italy several years ago. There were no ice crystals, no chunks, no surprises...just cold, creamy, and delicious gelato! I'll update my review if anything changes, but I'd definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to make ice-cream, gelato, or sorbet at home. UPDATE: After a few weeks of ownership, this Whynter ice cream maker is AWESOME and so is their recipe booklet included. The "custard base" recipe is so creamy and delicious. There is no reason for me to buy ice cream from a store ever again! With lot's of recipes online, the possibilities are endless. I've made several batches of gelato (recipesfromitaly.com) has delicious recipes. I also made a fantastic "bananas foster" ice cream, chocolate ice cream, and banana ice cream. I'm just getting started. It takes less than 60 minutes to make creamy and delicious frozen goodness in your own kitchen, gelato takes about 40 minutes. Enjoy!

Whynter ice cream maker.
I bought the machine and received it the following day. I made ice cream according to the recipes included in the booklet. The ice cream was extremely delicious; I was able to control the amount of sugar and ingredients, and I enjoyed every bite. I highly recommend this machine. It makes a little noise, but nothing unbearable. The machine is very simple to operate, and the quality of the ice cream is very good. I am glad I bought it for the summer. This way, I can save money on commercial ice cream, control the ingredients, and prepare healthy recipes.

Yummy kitchen addition
I am delighted with this ice cream maker. After about 5 minutes of assembling simple ingredients, I start the machine and sit down with a book to wait for deliciousness to be ready. The machine noise level is low. Maintenance is easy, although the dishwasher cannot be used. The instructions clear and easy to follow. The end product benefits from an hour or two in the freezer. So far, I'm made vanilla, fresh blueberry, and cream cheese ice creams, fresh strawberry frozen yogurt, and lemon and lime sorbets.

A Game-Changer for Homemade Organic Ice Cream!
I recently purchased the Whynter ICM-200LS ice cream maker after growing tired of the expense and limited options of high-quality organic ice cream with clean ingredients. The lack of flavor variety and availability in stores pushed me to explore making ice cream at home, and I'm so glad I did! The built-in compressor is fantastic, especially for someone new to homemade ice cream like me. There's no need to pre-freeze bowls or plan ahead - I can make ice cream on a whim. We tried it out with a chocolate recipe, and I was blown away by the results. It far surpassed even the best commercial ice creams I've tried, both in texture and flavor. While we've only made chocolate so far, I'm excited about the possibilities this machine opens up. We're looking forward to experimenting with different ingredients and creating a variety of flavors that aren't readily available commercially. The control over ingredients is a huge plus, allowing us to keep everything organic and tailored to our preferences. The 2.1-quart capacity is perfect for us. We're only two people, but it certainly makes enough for us with plenty of leftovers. The LCD display and controls are straightforward, making the process easy even for a novice like me. Clean-up is also a breeze, which I really appreciate. One thing to note: when the ice cream is first done, it has more of a soft-serve texture. To get that true ice cream consistency, we put it in Anchor Hocking Glass 2 Cup Round Food Storage Containers and freeze it overnight. This extra step really perfects the texture. While some might consider the price a bit high, I see it as an investment in quality and health. We're actually saving money in the long run by making our own organic ice cream instead of buying the expensive store-bought versions. Plus, the joy of creating our own flavors and knowing exactly what goes into our desserts is priceless. If you're frustrated with the cost and limited options of high-quality, organic ice cream, I highly recommend giving this Whynter model a try. It's opened up a whole new world of dessert possibilities for us, and I'm excited to keep experimenting with new flavors and ingredients. A couple of small nitpicks: I do wish the paddle was metal instead of the current material. It would be a nice upgrade for durability and performance. Also our unit did not include an ice cream scoop. Despite these minor points, I'm still thoroughly impressed with this machine. In short, this ice cream maker has been a fantastic addition to our kitchen. It's perfect for health-conscious individuals or anyone looking to have more control over their ice cream ingredients without sacrificing taste or texture. Happy ice cream making!

Great little machine!
Over the years, I've used several different kinds of ice cream makers - sometimes hand-cranked, some with an electric churning paddle - but they've all had either buckets that needed to be filled with ice and rock salt, or a container that needed to sit in the freezer at least overnight to prepare to make ice cream. This Whynter machine is the first I've had that is entirely self-contained. Thanks to the built-in refrigeration unit, making ice cream is a snap. Just prepare your recipe, pour the mixed ingredients into the churn, and press the "start" button. Within an hour, your ice cream is ready to go - either enjoy the soft-serve texture as it comes out of the churn, or pack it into a container and let it sit for a few hours to harden up a bit. Cleanup is a snap - the churn, paddle, and lid all are removeable for easy clean up. The instruction manual is basic but simple (the machine is not hard at all to operate) and it also comes with a booklet of basic ice cream recipes. It really is foolproof and just about any ice cream recipe you have can be made in it. The control panel uses words and icons to tell you what is going on in there and many of the settings can be adjusted to tweak your procedure. It's great fun and takes a TON of the work out of making homemade ice cream. If you're a member of the extremely niche market of people who make their own frozen dairy concoctions, this is the machine to buy. A few observations: The machine comes in a really big box. I was afraid I might not have a place for it in the kitchen. Opening it revealed a foam inner liner and ANOTHER box, the actual box the ice cream freezer comes in. When you finally get the machine unpacked and settled where you want it, I recommend you allow it to stand without starting it up for at least 24 hours. That box might be sitting on your porch right-side-up, but you don't know that it rolled up to you on the truck that way. Letting the unit sit undisturbed will ensure that the compressor won't be damaged when you start your first freeze cycle. Scale your recipes down so that you are using a maximum of five cups of ingredients. Ice cream expands as it's churned, and I've found that if you use too much the ice cream will try to creep over the edge of the churn. The default settings on the control panel have been perfect for my first few batches of ice cream, but as I get more experience playing with the Whynter, I'll probably do more fiddling around with them. It is better to add your "mix ins" when the ice cream is still somewhat soft and removed from the churn and being packed into a container. The churn is very inefficient when adding things like chocolate chips, and too efficient for adding swirls of, for example, butterscotch.

Quick and easy to use!
I am really impressed by this product! It’s so easy to set up and works exactly as advertised. We had a lot of fun mixing up the different flavors and toppings. The plate got cold super fast and it was surprisingly quiet! It takes about 10 minutes in total for it to get cold and roll it up. The quality felt solid and clean up was so easy! 10/10 definitely one of my favorite kitchen gadget ever!

Great product, delicious ice cream
I made my first batch of ice cream the day it arrived. Because it has a built-in compressor, not having to freeze the parts the night before is super convenient, allowing me to use the product whenever I want. The instructions were very clear and detailed, and therefore the product was really easy to use. It also comes with a recipe book for whole bunch of different ice creams and gelato. The set time to churn is 60mins and it’s actually a lot quieter than I thought. After 60mins, the ice cream comes out a bit soft but the machine has an option to freeze without churning. Compared to store bought ice cream, it tastes so much better - it’s creamier and smoother. Im excited to experiment with different ingredients in the future.

You'll never buy store bought again!
I wish I would have purchased this years ago! Made a vanilla batch earlier today which was so rich and creamy and now I am making a coffee caramel batch. I can't wait to make some strawberry daiquiris and Greek yogurt. The whole machine is not that big all things considered. I do wish it made larger quantities. 2 quarts for a family of 4 goes by fast.

So happy with my purchase!
After almost a decade of using the freezer bowl style of ice cream maker, this machine is a delight. Heavy and bulky (as expected for something with a freezing unit in it) but quiet and effective. Noticeable improvement in the quality of the final product. Easy to assemble, use, and clean. I love being able to make multiple batches at once for layered or swirled desserts. Only downside is the paddle is annoyingly shaped and hard to scrape off completely. Lots of tight corners. But I think that's the case with most modern ice cream makers.
