I recently purchased the WiFi Water Timer for my garden, and I must say, it has completely revolutionized the way I care for my lawn. This innovative device combines convenience and efficiency in a way that every avid gardener will appreciate. The setup process was a breeze. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and within minutes, I had the timer connected to my home network. The WiFi feature is a game-changer. I can now control my watering schedule from anywhere, whether I'm at work, on vacation, or just lounging in the backyard. This level of remote accessibility has given me peace of mind knowing that my plants are receiving the right amount of water, even when I'm not around. The timer offers a wide range of customizable options. I can set specific watering times, durations, and intervals based on the unique needs of each plant. This flexibility is crucial for maintaining a healthy garden, especially when dealing with a variety of plant types. One of the standout features is the rain delay function. This intelligent system monitors local weather forecasts and automatically adjusts the watering schedule to avoid overwatering during rainy periods. This not only conserves water but also ensures that my plants are not subjected to unnecessary stress. The build quality of the timer is exceptional. It feels sturdy and durable, designed to withstand outdoor conditions. The waterproof housing gives me confidence that it will endure even during heavy rain or other adverse weather conditions. This water timer/sprinkler makes my life easy. I don't have to worry about physically being home to water my garden. It is user friendly, compatible with iPhone and reliable. I cannot comment on the battery life as of yet; however, I am currently satisfied with the device.

i never write reviews, but this one needs it. hub would not connect to timer -- the hub and timer were about 10 feet apart with a wood door in between. it is the year 2026, and i should not spend more than 5 minutes with setting up an IoT device. unfortunately, i spent an hour or so to no fruition. the app is garbage -- it won't connect your timer when you do it as a subset of the hub, even if your phone has full wifi signal (i tried decombining my network and having a dedicated 2.4ghz signal) and your phone is literally touching the timer. it will only detect the timer as a standalone bluetooth device. this is not the device for you if you have anything more than a basic 2.4ghz router setup or have exotic materials such as a wooden door obstructing the device. attached is a photo of the device back in the box on top of my other amazon returns.

After moving into my house a year ago, I was still watering my lawn the old-fashioned way by moving the hose around. But with a busy work schedule and life getting in the way, I decided it was time to install my own sprinkler system. I heard great things about the RainPoint WiFi Timer and decided to go all in, purchasing the 4-pack with the WiFi attachment. The ability to control everything remotely is amazing—no more dragging hoses around! You can easily set up a watering schedule and then forget about it, letting the system do all the work. It’s incredibly freeing and a huge upgrade from manual watering. The only downside is that the app can be a bit buggy at times and doesn’t always connect immediately. However, once connected, the system works as it should. Despite this minor issue, it’s a fantastic product to consider if you’re looking for a reliable timer for your irrigation system.

The build quality of the device is good: brass spigot fitting, hefty body, and a battery compartment that seals well with rubber gasket. Some may not like that the back bulges out enough to contact the siding/brick if they connect this timer directly to the spigot. I recommend getting a splitter. Not only will this give the timer more swivel room, but it provides an additional spout for extra water access, a hose, or another timer. Like other smart water timers, this device operates over Bluetooth and, with the included hub, Wifi. Like the rest, you can choose to use the hub or not, but remote access and home assistant control require that you use it. The included directions for app setup may tell you to download and use the Rainpoint app. This is not necessary nor recommended any longer by Rainpoint. Instead choose a generic smart home control app like Tuya or SmartLife. I believe Rainpoint recommends Tuya. That’s what I use. Setup is straightforward and should be a familiar process for anyone who’s set up a smart wifi-enabled device before. Although the Tuya app (or other) is generic, it has a pre-defined water timer profile that gives you little more control than you could get with a (much cheaper) non-smart water timer. Its strongest "smart" features are the convenience of turning the water on/off as needed through your mobile/home assistant device and the operation history. (Note: the yellow, dual-output split Rainpoint smart timer doesn’t let you see the watering history.) However, buyer beware. What should be a very powerful and useful smart feature does not work as one would expect. One tab on the app is for setting a Weather Delay, or for how long after forecasted rain the timer will pause its operation. But, this is a one-time only delay. It is not a repeating rule. I learned this the hard way. During the second storm after setting up my timers with a weather delay, I look outside to see all my sprinklers running in the rain. I’m now looking into 3rd party apps like IFTTT to fix this flaw. If you don’t want to spend a great deal of time, like me, researching and implementing a fix or to remember always to reset your weather delay after every rain forecast, this smart timer is not for you. I’m hoping that Rainpoint will push an update in the future to patch this misleading Weather Delay feature. At that time I may raise my rating.

In the RainPoint app, you will be able to control all your RainPoint devices. After selecting this valve controller device, you will see its battery percentage and its running state. Below that, you will see information about the week. The information consists of the weather forecast (temperature and rain). Maybe the weather forecast can be improved to also show the percentage of rain for that day. If you set a timer schedule, a water icon will be displayed at the bottom of the days that were configured. If the timer is running, you will see the time left. You have 2 options for running the timer, manually and scheduled. Manual options allow selections from 1 minute to 24 hrs. There is the ability to delay watering. You can only delay for 1, 2, or 3 days. The icon to select this option can be improved to better represent this option. The schedule allows you to pick from normal or Cycle&Soak. For the normal schedule, you pick the start time, duration, and days to water. For the Cycle&Soak, you pick the start and end times, and days to water. Then you select the amount of time it will water (cycle) and the amount of time that it stop to allow the water to soak in. It also support Alexa or Google Assistant integration. I tried using the Google Assistant, and it seemed to work ok. The outdoor valve controller is pretty compact. The brass connector at the top will help keep it from getting fused to your hose bib. The front only consists of a blue status light and a button to manually turn on/off the water. To install the 3 AAA batteries, you just turn the front piece a couple of degrees to remove the front panel. You should hold onto this piece as it is attached to the body by a small coiled wire. Once the front is off, you can then remove the battery door cover. No tools are required, which is a plus. The device feels solid and well made. The WiFi module is pretty small and compact, but I would like to see it be a little shorter on the bottom, as it is a tight fit next to an existing plug. Overall, this is a pretty nice water timer.

Timer is well-built with sturdy construction. I expect it to hold up much better than plastic mechanical timers I've used in the past, but time will tell. Main reason I bought was to add watering capability to my smart home (with Alexa) setup, and I'm happy to say that it works wonderfully on that front, after you figure out how to get there! Main frustration I had with the timer was getting it set up to work with my Alexa smart home integrations, but after some YouTube research and trial/error, I was able to get it set up. With the Alexa part working, I was so pleased with the timer that I ordered a 2nd to run our drip irrigation system and it's been awesome. Here are steps I took to get the Timer to work with Alexa: - Don't set up the devices using RainPoint app that instructions will tell you to use - Install/open Smart Life app (if you don't have it, install + create account, etc.) - To add Gateway to Smart Life app, plug Gateway into outlet, click the Add Device button, select Device type of "Multi-function Gateway (BLE)" and follow steps to complete adding of Gateway device. Note that the picture of the device in the app will not match the Gateway unit itself, but should still work. - To add timer, first follow the provided instructions to install batteries and get timer into pairing/setup mode. In Smart Life app, click on the Gateway device you just set up, click "Add device" at the bottom of the screen. Follow the instructions in the app and it should find/add your timer as a device that's bound to the Gateway. - Now that your Gateway + Timer are set up in Smart Life, you just need to take the steps to link Smart Life with your Alexa app/account and Alexa *should* get automatically identify your Timer as a newly discovered device. From there you can turn on/off manually or by voice ("Alexa, run 'Drip Irrigation' for 30 minutes", set up routines for automatic watering, etc. - For some of the nuanced Timer settings (delaying/skipping watering due to recent rain, adjusting the default timer duration, etc.), I adjust those on the Timer directly in the Smart Life app. Otherwise, I use the Alexa app/capability for everything.

J'utilise ce programmateur WiFi pour gérer l'arrosage du jardin depuis mon téléphone, même en déplacement. L'application permet de contrôler le système à distance et de programmer plusieurs plans d'arrosage différents selon les zones. La compatibilité avec Alexa et Google Assistant permet d'utiliser des commandes vocales. L'entrée en laiton semble robuste et résiste bien à la pression d'eau. Installation facile, contrôle efficace, gain de temps au quotidien.

What's neat about this device, is that it has far broader implications of use than is implied. It's a Tuya device, which means you can go straight to the Tuya or Smart Life apps (Tuya is essentially a branded version of Smart Life, the latter being my preference) which means you can not only skip over the brand-specific app entirely but open yourself up to easier integration with other Tuya devices. It's a big ecosystem, and I believe there is some pretty finicky possibility with HomeAssistant. Either way being compatible with an open generic system is a huge plus as a product. To do this, plug the hub in and search for it by using Add Device in Tuya/Smart Life. It should more or less immediately find the hub and add it to your ecosystem. Then you search for device again - it should prompt you to do this after doing the hub - and it should then pick up the Bluetooth Water Timer as a separate device but the one which you'll be interacting with. And that's it, the rest is setting up what you want to do with the timer or just plain turning it on and off with the press of a button. It does this responsively, delay is minimal insofar as it matters but I guess you want that connection to be an absolutely sure thing in case it turns on and then can't turn off again. Unless the both instructions are queued to the device simultaneously, but I'd be surprised if they are. The Bluetooth hub looks ridiculous and can be awkward because it requires an EU to UK adaptor while you'll have to provide yourself. However it does work well, it's got furniture and walls between itself and the timer and seems to have no issue with that though isn't far away. Curiously, Alexa has trouble utilising the connection when Tuya does not, maybe moving obstacles would help but it's the same connection so... got me there. And that's about it. The plastic threads on the lower part feel a little thinner than I'd hope, but not delicate. Since this is the kind of device you're not going to use in cold/freezing/etc weather, I'm less bothered about fragility than I would be others. It's important to note that this does require pressure, you can't use it draw from rain-fed stored water, for instance. Finally, at the time I got the device it was less than £20. Then it went to £40. I have no idea which the real price would be or if it's somewhere in between, so mentally lower my rating by a star if the asking price is less flattering.

Dieser RAINPOINT WiFi Sprinkler Timer ist für mich eine echte Entdeckung, da die Smart-App-Steuerung technologisch sicher meine Pflanzen versorgt, während ich in der Küche das Abendessen vorbereite. Ich habe die Bewässerung neulich von unterwegs aus dem Park aktiviert und war total froh, wie präzise das Wasser zu den Beeten floss, während meine beiden Katzen neugierig an den sprühenden Düsen auf der Terrasse schnupperten. Es ist ein tolles Erlebnis, wie unkompliziert die WLAN-Anbindung technologisch erstklassig funktioniert, sodass ich ohne manuellen Aufwand für eine erstklassige Frische in unserem Heim sorgen kann. Die Handhabung der App ist so unkompliziert, dass ich die Zeitpläne fix auf mein Handy übertragen kann, bevor der nächste Trubel mit Schule und Hausaufgaben losgeht. Dass die Sensoren technologisch erstklassig auf Wettervorhersagen reagieren und bei Regen pausieren, gibt mir ein gutes Gefühl, da ich im Haushalt auf Wasserersparnis achte und gleichzeitig meine Blumen optimal pflege. Es ist eine wahre Freude, wenn das Gehäuse so dezent am Wasserhahn verschwindet und trotzdem für eine erstklassige Reichweite bei der Signalübertragung sorgt, ganz ohne Verbindungsabbrüche. Für mich ist dieser Irrigation Controller der ideale Partner, um ohne großen Zeitaufwand für ein blühendes Paradies in unserem Garten zu sorgen, während ich gleichzeitig die Gewissheit habe, dass die Automatisierung technologisch erstklassig und zuverlässig arbeitet.
