See the video in the photos of the description.Many claim it doesn't zoom but they probably tried to twist the lens instead of pulling it out.It's great that it can work on NON rechargeable too. If you have a power failure and then find your rechargeable light is NOT charged, it's not a problem with this. Also you can always put in rechargeable AA batteries so it's the best of both worlds.
